Pick Your Team 2017 Rnd 3 - Warriors vs Raiders

KenMaumaloNRLRd7RaidersvWarriors8smSQKygYZ8x

After the Round 2 game against the Gold Coast Titans at Mt Smart Stadium do you want to see any changes for the Round 3 game against the Canberra Raiders at GIO Stadium?

Promotions?
Demotions?
Any new injury concerns?
Any returning players?
Any tweaks to the bench?

Discuss...

Sam Cook has been kept until late in the game and has made significant errors each time he comes on. I wouldn't drop him because of that but with the way Luke is playing right now, if he were to get injured I thing it would really affect the whole team because Cook is way below Luke's standard.

SK is doing everything right so far .
So whoever he picks is OK by me
The interesting picks will be when Mannering
An Beale come back into play
Others in the wings Vete,Paasi,Satae.
An Karl Laughton must be pushing for spots
What a position to be in .
This is new for us .I think we can win this one

No tougher place to learn hard lessons than in first grade, smack bang in the middle of the park as a rookie. While both the Rabbits and Titans have had the momentum in his 10min stints, and hes been stuck under the pump on our line. Luke went to 13 for a gassed Sao and Cook came on all due to the Papali'i injury.

Fingers crossed for Sir Manner being fit for Papali'i on the left edge. Otherwise I think Pulu will start at 11, with Sao sharing mins with Lisone at lock and Vete coming onto the bench as 2nd prop.

If things continue this is gonna get boring...
I’d say just Paasi and maybe Vete back in for Papali’i and Cooke, not sure where the rest of the injured guys are sitting

Same again.

You don’t mess with a winning team unless it’s an injury.

Paasi in for Papalii who is prob out injured. Hope its not too serious.
Lawton in for Cook. Cook has had his first grade taste. Can now go back to reserve grade, get more gametime and keep knocking on the door. I want to see how Lawton goes. Covers more positions as emergency cover too.

If Mannering fit, to come via bench spot.

Mannering said in the aftermatch interview that he is probably another 3 weeks away.

Lawton didn’t play yesterday as was injured..

Paasi hardly did anything in the ISP match worthy of a promotion even if Papalii is out injured. Vete or Satae would be my pick for a bench spot.

Good to see you posting teams again with some genuine interest bro.

I really like your suggestion that Mannering comes off the bench on lots of levels....probably the main one being...take care of a returning Soldier....this gives you a sense of more control over your output I.e let others play grunts and cannon fodder....bench players have an easier job gauging how much gas is in the tank.

The other main thing I like is the message that players coming into a team showing some form....shouldn't just stroll in and take a starting spot off someone who is doing their job well.

Competition for spots could be a thing at the Warriors if.....

A legend has to fight for a spot once in his career...

The ISP side were not great. Paasi had one shoulder and knee heavily strapped and looked way off his best form - I have watched him at Titans games for the last few years and he is not in form and carrying injuries. Vete didnt make much metrage either. Satae looked good seemed to be playing 2nd row.
So maybe Satae for bench.
Those people bagging Lino yeah he had a lot of mistakes worst game I have seen him play but he didn't play last week and is probably capable of a big improvement.

in the other thread Sup said that the ISP team was heavily affected by the bug from Perth? would that explain the level of play you saw?

People seem to forget or perhaps don’t know that Paasi made 21 carries for 200 meters in last weeks game so he’s not entirely out of form, I see him coming onto the bench with Vaha moving to the left edge if Simon’s still unavailable.

Don't care who.

Just care how they play.

More of the same with an improvement on straight running and punching through the line.

Another big pack this week. A great challenge to muscle up for our little pack that could.

Corvo = the difference

I missed the reserve grade game - how did they go? How did the Feds look with Papa looking likely to be out?

Watched a little bit of the reserve and couldn't believe what a big human Satae is jaysus, his thighs are huge. The bits i did see Vete didn't look too bad but then again i only watched about a quarter of the game.

Pulu was everywhere, did the job Papaii did for us last week. That should be rwarded with a starting spot.

I know Mannering isn't back but when he does return I would be keeping him in the middle to try and stop the metres these teams are making in the first few hitups, plus I think on attack I prefer him out of the backline.
