General Overrated Tough Guys/enforcers

Anyone who fights in the WWE or any other forms of pro wrestling

It's not a real fight, but shit, that's a bit harsh. Getting dumped off a ladder, getting up and doing it all over again takes a fair amount of balls. Obviously anybody saying a WWE guy would hold his own in the UFC has a screw loose, but there is definitely a degree of toughness involved. Masochism too...

I believe a book was written about this subject a few years ago featuring Aussie and Kiwi Hard men, Tamati, Dowling, and probably my personal favourite, Mark Cowboy Shaw were in it I believe. I never bought it unfortunately.

From my own playing days a would be hard man in the opposition was told by the referee that if he was punched one more time he would be sent off. This the early 80's in the Waikato club rugby scene. The ref was a little Maori guy, loved rugby and was a great ref because he understood the game. He would never progress in the ranks as he wasn't a by the book ref and Ref assessors would no doubt mark him down. We loved playing in the games he controlled. Sorry for derailment.

Yeah bro just not sure how to rate or overate a tough guy in the nrl and am assuming other teams / players or the media label a player an enforcer not the player himself. Heard a Kevin tamati interview years ago was asked who he rated as one of the toughest players he'd played with or against you'll never guess who he named... little fella by the name of Peter sterling reckoned he was fearless

Brock was a special case. He was a national NCAA champion (Amateur wrestling, which is one of the major building blocks of MMA) before moving into WWE. He'd still be going strong in the UFC if it weren't for a virus that pretty much wrecked his intestines too =/

That's not to say with the right training that other wrestlers would go alright though haha.

Lesnar's return to the WWE shows the huge discrepancy between the two styles of toughness imo. No matter how much toughness is involved in leaping off top ropes to 'fake slam' someone, you can't get past the fact that Lesnar isn't physically able to compete in the UFC now, but can still flourish in pro-wrestling.

obviously thats true because the objective is to not hurt each other and put on a show every night but some of these guys are tough. they have the physical attributes to back it up. a couple of the stars from when i was a kid are reputed to be mean SOBs. A guy named haku had a reputation as a brawler who gauged someones eye out in a fight and the guy undertaker has a reputation as someone not to mess with, theres footage of him getting in lesnars face after a ufc match.

You're overlooking the fact that Brock is a part time wrestler, only having 3-4 matches per year. The grinding schedule of 4-5 matches per week plus the massive travel between them is what makes them hard cu**s. I don't dispute that Lesnar isn't capable of fighting at the UFC level anymore, but I'd also question if he were able to handle traveling all around the states (and sometimes internationally) for 300-odd days per year.

To sum up my point, I suppose:

UFC Fighters - would win in a fight, obviously in the conventional term, the tougher group.

WWE Wrestlers - handle the aches and pains of a horrific schedule, while also volunteering to get slamming on their heads between the travel, thus displaying toughness (masochism) in that less conventional manner.
