Im holding out hope for NSW this year. This may be a win finally with a completely revamped team of form players hopefully. Reynolds and Sutton in the halves would be a pretty good combo I reckon.
I dont like Sutton much but you cant deny he is a lot of trouble for oppositions with his size.
Reynolds was arguably the best halfback in the NRL last year so definitely a better option than Pearse if the selectors can get up the courage to admit they got it wrong and dump him.

Now they've changed the Eligibility rules I can enjoy the Origin concept without all the distractions of the player snatching.

Live in Victoria, the hatred for NSW permeates everywhere here, always have, always will go for the Morons, Cameron Smith was on a show with Willy Mason the other day, when asked how many series do you guys want. Smith instantly replied, 10 sounds a good round number and grinned. I go for Queensland because they have a settled management and team. New Coach NSW and I expect new players to be selected, which hasn't worked for years so I don't expect it to this year.

Pearce will DEFINATELY be one of the halves. If the NSW selectors have any brains they will stick with Carney and build on the experience he gained last year.

Its time NSW started showing loyalty to players. Petero last year was way off Origin standard but Queensland stuck with their soldier. Did NSW do the same for Hindmarsh?

Your dreaming if you think Daley is going to bring you any success. What has he done as a coach? Stuart had a great chance to if he stuck around for one more year but thats history now.

Its all good news for me anyway as Im a Morons supporter. Dont really have any affiliation to either team but Queensland is the Warriors team so its 8 in a row for me ...

really? pearce has been average at best. The roosters havent been great until last week where their forwards and maloney ran all over the eels, not pearce.

pearce has now been involved in SOO for 4 years, I think thats a fair go. Hes never been anything special and if anything he chokes at key moments.

Im a NSW fan, have been since the 80s but I dont see any reason to continue with Pearce. Hopefully he proves me wrong if he does get the spot

Dont forget that NSW were very close to taking out the series. TBH they almost pulled it off except for some controversial ref calls. Remember the Inglis try?

i dont think dumping pearce would be an overreaction, theres just better options. Still if the roosters keep running like they did last week I can see selectors picking Maloney and Pearce as the NSW 6 and 7

Just seen on Monday Night Live Laurie Daly confirm that Mitchell Pearce will definately get a halves spot, Stewart FB, Morris on one wing, Hayne maybe the other wing and T-Rex will be given every opportunity to make the top 17. The Tony Williams thing is a stupid idea IMO. He hasnt done anything this year. Laurie Daly must be a muppet. 8 in a row for sure...

not eaxactly, he said if the team was picked right now that Williams is not in the frame for the squad.
He did say that if he improves over the next few weeks and lifts his game to the appropriate level that he will be considered. Seems pretty reasonable to me.

NSW probably has the better forward pack now (Tamou, Gallen, Watmough, Lewis, Bird etc and the emergence of Merrin and Woods this year), but that backline and spine in the Morons side is absolutely ridiculous and it gives them a chance to win every game. Its why they can get away with being loyal to guys like Ashley Harrison because as long as they put their hand up to take some hit-ups and don't make mistakes on defence, the spine and backline will punish NSW for any mistakes.

I reckon Mitchel Pearce is a poor mans Kieran Foran... but NSW doesn't have anyone better. There is a lot of push for James Maloney to get a run... the poor unsuspecting fools. Imagine him trying to defend against Inglis or Hodges running off either Cronk or Thurston.

I used to support Queensland (for the best part of 20 years)... I abused NSW and NSW fans for their blatant poaching of Tamou. And after Queensland poached Papalii (and tried for Kasiano and Taumalolo) - well, I swore off them for not wanting to be a hypocrite.

So now, I'll watch the games to see the two best teams in the world go at it... But I won't actively support anyone... Like watching a Grand Final without the warriors, roosters, or manly in it (I support one, and support anyone playing the other two)...

Thats like me. I was only a handful of kids that supported Queensland at school (early 2000s). All we got was "Langers too old" or "Fittler and Joeys gonna rip you'se up!" Now who's the underdog?

Now I have tried supporting NSW. But just cant! When NSW start winning the series again I think thats when SOO gets exciting Again!
