General NRL & Union Drugs Scandal 2015

Seriously guys....if you want to discuss drugs and its effects, legalisation, how it has impacted on your cousins, nephew's grand daughter etc...take it to the following thread:
https://www.nzwarriors.com/threads/drugs-in-society.40989/

If it has nothing to do with the current 2015 drugs scandal engulfing the NRL, and Union, it should not be posted on here.

And ease up on all the 'coca cola' images, white lines jokes. It gets old after the 20th time.

Matt Jenkins of TAB Sport said it would be irresponsible to punters to allow bets to be placed on the game until more information is known.

"As this story develops we have decided to suspend betting until more news happens," Jenkins told AAP.

"We don't know how big this is going to be so it's protecting the punters more than anything." - AAP Reports

First agency to suspend betting was the one that sponsors the Broncos. I'm sure people will read something into it, but this is all precautionary IMO.

Read this morning on the nrl site that court cases are expected to take 12-18 months minimum. This is now ASADA Mark 2

Will add link when i get home

Radio Sport this morning mentioned that there are whispers of either a NZ team or NZ players involved. They did not expand on what one it was. They wouldn't allude to the sport and said nothing more than it was whispers.

IMO whispers mean jack shit until charges are laid.

As far as this "drug barons" of league & union scandal goes, I quite frankly find this to be sensationalist mainstream media "journalism" at its worst, for mine I would be far more concerned if these guys were doing a Lance Armstrong & were actively involved in the importation, distribution & administration of performance enhancing substances (which are more than likely far more prevalent in our game than any of us would like to believe) such as, TRT, peptides, anabolic steroids etc, as this is a blatant form of cheating, & also has huge irreversible ramifications on the biological balance of the human body, but no, they have instead committed far worse crimes against humanity & have actively decided to personally use & sling some ice (a more or less victimless crime) so themselves & others can jump a bump ... OH NO !!! lets blindfold these demons, line them up against the wall, march out the firing squad & smoke them shall we ??? ... tongue firmly in cheek

Under the current laws & the NRL's so called constitution, I would never be so naive as to expect these guys to walk away scott free, far from it, but if you look at some of the savage vitriol they are receiving from all over the internet & mainstream media, you would be relatively justified in believing that these guys were possibly flying around Australia in a 747 indiscriminately mass spraying people with ebola lol

I've said it before, I'll say it again & I'll more than likely say it some more (but not on this thread, as I'm sure there's some voyeurs here who just want get off on the scandal lol) ... its all a matter of perspective :D

This year will be an asterisk year for anyone who wins the comp, especially if more teams and big name players are removed from the comp.

'team x won the comp in 2015'.. 'that was the year all those players got removed from the comp and teams were under strength wasn't it?'

Personally I still think that way about the year the Warriors got the minor premiership after the Dogs had all their points removed, while they were run away leaders. Or all those years the Storm cheated, who knows who would have finished where if teams weren't over strength.

I don't think so.

There's no asterix for 2002 when the Bulldogs were stripped their points.

No asterix in 2010 when Melbourne were stripped of their points.

24 weeks of Rugby League will produce a Top 8, of which one will be the victor. No amount of stood down drug taking players can diminish someone elses premiership.

What about the premierships Melbourne had stripped, there was effectively no winner those years. Or do Melbourne keep those titles.

When a team, particularly the best team in the case of Storm and the Dogs, is taken out of the comp for whatever reason, it devalues the comp imo.

Nobody has those titles as they were stripped off Melbourne 2002 is different the dogs were caught during the season and docked points therefore they did not contest the top 8

The point is, those are asterisk years
(not asterix, hes a comic book character)

I know what you are trying to say but try telling the Roosters there is an asterisk next to their 2002 premiership, same again for the Dragons in 2010.

I don't necessarily disagree that the comp gets devalued when these things occur, but the show must go on and we have our first comp to win.

I don't see it that way and I am sure many people don't the dogs tried to cheat and got caught and therefore rightly didn't take their place in the top 8 Melbourne managed to fool everyone but eventually it came back to haunt them as they had contested the finals and won they were rightfully stripped of their titles it was not handed to the loser of the grand final which in all honestly the losers probably wouldn't have wanted anyway

If the Warriors had of won in 2002 I know i wouldn't be saying we only won because the dogs cheated we won because we were the last team standing
