NRL Round Discussion NRL Round 11, 2025 Discussion

Sounds like the CEO forgot to consult the players about hiring a new coach who had success recently, then we hear the coach now wants to clean house (to keep his job and hoping for a successful run)

Wonder if that’s why Walsh has been coincidentally so s*** this year 😂

It's the oldest cliche in the book isn't it? A champion team beats a team of champions every single time. In many ways, 2025 Broncos remind me of the 2012 Wahs. Coming off our GF appearance and our gun U20s side moving into first grade, I remember we were widely tipped to be premiership contenders and an up and coming NRL powerhouse for 2012 and beyond. Turns out that you can have all the talent in the world but if you don't have the systems in place to complement it with a culture of hard work, that talent will never get converted into anything tangible results wise.

I sense the Broncs are going to crash and burn just like we did back then. I'll go as far as to say they won't make the 8 and Mcguire will be sacked by the end of the year. Broncs don't have the patience to persevere with his long term plan given how the Brisbane media goes into meltdown mode after every loss.

with a culture of hard work
Thats the key there.

If you listen what Cheese said, Madge works his players harder than anyone. But very few people like hard work and overpaid footy prima donnas hate if more than anyone.

I think some guys treat it as a job, but that's not how you excel. Walsh is a prime example, injured, playing crap footy, but he's out horsing around getting lit with the boys. A real professional eats, trains, recovers, sleeps.

This is where we start talking about teams 'wanting the win, more', right?

Skill gets you so far in a job, enthusiasm and desire is that extra 10% on top that gets you to the pinacle of your craft.

To be honest Cheese didn't even say Madge applies that intensity to NRL, for all we know it's hardER but not "short tournament insane hard" hard. I'm sure their fans wouldn't mind paying their players to work hard and win the comp...

In saying that imagine disgruntled employees got worked harder and they lose 5 out of 6, storm in a teapot stuff lol

Can’t remember where I read it, but Reynolds and Madge have history.

It's an interesting one as he's lost the dressing room at 3 clubs... so it's not just the Broncos being prima donna's and Maguire might need to go introspective.

The Bunnies after their prelim and win - the players attributed his style with ruining them physically leading to his sacking.

Webby is onto something when players are so outwardly saying "they feel valued" "this is home" etc.
