General NRL Fantasy 2023

You aren’t a fan of the SuperCoach scoring? I reckon they’ve got it about right, def better than back when tacklebots were the most valuable players. My one criticism would be that I sometimes think the scoring plays double up a bit too much - say a winger getting both a line break & a try just for catching a good pass. Perhaps thats your point.

I can't stand the supercoach scoring, way too attacking reliant. Hence why I've stuck to Fantasy for so long.

I feel Fantasy battlers are far closer to the actual best players than Supercoach studs. Sione Katoa, Kotoni Staggs, Tesi Niu and Alex Johnson are not half the players Tohu Harris,Taumalolo and Cotter are, but score the same points.

I do think the double ups for scoring stats are stupid. The arbitrary 8m run is dumb. The lack of kick metres is silly too. Tries should be 10 points not 17 and the linebreak halved as well.

Fair point - however Staggs was shithouse in SuperCoach last year. Apparently currently over 200k signed up for SuperCoach this year although expect that to drop a bit. My mates and I have never played Fantasy, def not enough room in my life for both!!

Both is a struggle. I try to do them in different blocks with different excel sheets because they are totally different mindsets.

Staggs wasn't just shite in Supercoach he's shite in real life. Yet every now and then they'd give him a high score, what rubbish he's a mistake machine. Brisbane had a lot of them, Issako, Niu, Cobbo and Staggs, so annoying to watch.

I'll join too. Cheers. If you try NRL make sure to read the scoring rules and learn how to loop which is super fun. Also more important this year with the constant byes.

WTF?

You know what I hate is, when you go to a predicted NRL lineup site for Fantasy/Supercoach and scroll through the teams going "hmm, imteresting...".

Then you get to the Warriors (always near the bottom) and they have Te Maire Martin at fullback, Charnze at centre, Metcalf at 6, Tohu Harris at prop, Curran at 13 and Sironen on the bench... C'mon man!

How can I trust your other guesstimates when our coach has practically given you the blueprint, and you still stuff it up!
Now, I'm not sure if they're completely untrustworthy as utter Aussie drongos or just deliberately ignorant about our Warriors...

Bird has gone down at the Dragons. He'll bre back but Hook, according to Hunt, has him penned in for 6...

Which leaves a starter spot in 2nd row, with the key candidates being Burns and Fuimaono coming off an injury. Both are cheap and should average about the same. Although Hook love old warhorses and could put BMM in there too.

Fuimaono is older than Burns and is coming off and injury so probably first cab off Hook's rank.

Yeah I had my eye on Sullivan but preferred him at hooker where he averages more. But Hook has ruined him and Liddle, who I liked for a bounce back. As long as Mbye is there, it's goodbye for me.

Just need two diamond scores in a row and he's gone.

The Dragons deserve the spoon, they're bringing the game into disrepute.
