So given the season has all but gone, due to these close losses, heck 3 of the 6 would have us in the 8, but too little to late outside a miracle.

Surely the team should be trying whatever it takes to make the finals this year and worrying about where Walsh plays next year. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has to play FB. He does nothing for Walsh on the wing imo.

In all honesty if we moved Jazz to 9, Sean O'Sullivan to 7, Walsh to 6, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck to 1, I think thats a spine that can create a lot of points.

Possibly let Kodi and Jazz share the 9 role. The limited time we played this spine we nearly came back from 14 points down, scored 2 tries from amazing Walsh passes.

Im tired of looking ahead FOREVER, put your players in the positions they are most likely going to create havoc and score a lot of runs and concentrate on the small guys in defense (especially if Kodi is on the field as 9). And just give it a crack, 8/9 is soooo unlikely, but you never know unless we try.
You're talking too much sense AWF!

In a tight game we had three chances to win. Walsh’s amazing run that was cut agonisingly short by Brailey, Curren just needing to grasp a loose ball but got white line fever and Walsh’s missed drop goal after Addin Fonua-Blake had set up perfect field position for the conditions.

That game was there for the taking if we were good enough? However we lack the polish to turn those half chances into a win. Very depressing after watching Penrith the night before soak up a Roosters onslaught before getting some possession back and Cleary having the balls to kick on the 2nd tackle for a try and completely switch momentum their way.

We have a very long way to go! 😳
Penrith have come a long way themselves - abeit making the finals for a few seasons in a row before finally making the GF again last season - point is we can get there too but the next few recruitment decisions will be critical as will the development of the young crop we seem to be going all in on…

That’s why making the top 8 is critical - the experience alone is valuable in building a winning culture…

They were so dumb and coaching is to blame as well...

At no stage did we try and use the strong wind...as soon as it was halftime and we only had a two point lead, game over...

We are shit and don't deserve to make the 8.

More to follow...

1 walsh
6 nikorima
7 Sean O'Sullivan

or

1 Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
6 Walsh
7 nikorima

Its so farkin obvious.

Playing Roger Tuivasa-Sheck on the wing has shafted our season. It’s been akin to tanking- may as well have put the white flag up.
Typical season- promise the world and deliver an atlas 😞

Why didnt coach send a change of tactic to the water boy. They all seem to be doing a hell of a lot of talking into them magic mics in the coaching box. Surely they can see things arnt happening. We all can,

Mt Wellington must still think it’s 2019 when he labelled this thread … 😉

Fuck we were utterly useless that year…
Hurts aye bro? But we turn up every week for this torture! Lol. And will continue to for life i guess.

26 years of a little ups, And a shit load of downs.

26 years of wondering what the new season will bring. What new talent will be unearthed.

Start of the season - Excitement

Mid season - Fucking useless

End of season- Oh well. See ya next year.

Rinse & repeat 😂

But we love it. Or we wouldn't keep coming back on these forums to vent, cry, laugh & celebrate.
They're a asshole of a team sometimes. But they're our assholes 😂

Wait, wasn’t the towel kicked that year?

Legend says it was a malicious act from a frustrated coach? others say “towlee” was just the innocent victim of poor housekeeping lol

Either way you’re correct, in 2019 we were f##ken useless!!

Thankfully, this team now has this area well covered with Katoa ready to pounce on any rogue linen.

Didn't get to see the game yet but interested to hear how Otuloku went.

He didn't look out of place. Looked up to it physically. Only came on while Jazz had an HIA assesment. So didn't get much time to show a lot. Not sure if he ran from dummy half or not, mainly remember him tackling and passing out of dummy half.

Think he deserved a second stint towards the end of the game.

If Egan is out again this week I wouldn't be against him starting. If he doesn't start they really need to review the breakdown of minutes between Jazz and Otuloku at dummy half. Should be moving more towards Otuloku seeing as he's the specialist.

he only looked to run once, passed every other time, but he was error free in the conditions, so that's good. defended well. Poor old nate roache injured himself again for the eels, so just as well we are pushing on with some other hookers.

Not trying to make excuses for them, but team not equipped at all to play in those conditions, that’s not kodi’s game, easy to forget Sean O'Sullivan is essentially a rookie as well, and not a day for fullbacks either.

On paper our big edge was in the outside backs, but can’t really use your backs on a day like that and it just comes down to who scores last wins.

On the other hand, how complicated is it to kick early when you have the wind and keep them coming out of their own end. Possibly they got it into their heads it was a 10+ point wind and lost track of what they should be doing, halves running the ball too much. Newcastle were also too grubber happy.

Katoa looked a bit more engaged back outside of kodi, who probably fed him the ball too often. No idea what this Ben Murdoch-Masila in the front row carry on is, and why is Curran playing lock? Though Tohu Harris seemed to be in the middle for the most part, he was our best once again.

3 losses on the trot, probably a good time for another week off.

Might see some signing changes, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak should bring some enthusiasm, there might be a small chance with a veteran winger coming in Roger goes back to 1. If they do get Lodge at least they can end this mickey mouse prop rotation – 2 big starting bookends and the bench should fall into place. If brown can stop tinkering with his forward rotations

I don't know what he is going to do, but he won't be putting up with this shite. FFS we only lost by 4 points...but it is clear something is really wrong.

We know what is wrong with the Broncos, Bennett actually ran the club, so when he left there was a power vacuum filled by a committee of old boys. Old boys live in the past. it goes with old age, believe me.

Just to throw it out there, who around is not coaching and can?

Flanagan, Griffin, Seibold.

Seibold?? If you can win a premiership you can coach.
John Morris is available, and he comes with the prodigal son and his young apprentice, some kid named Metcalf. Just putting all the pieces together to form a wild theory.

Unfortunately I don’t agree..

This team was fantastic last year despite having to drop everything and move, so what exactly is different this time round given they had plenty of time to prepare and also bring their whanau with them?

Is it possible the whanua are actually a distraction ? these aren’t 5 year old kids who need the support of family to feel secure about themselves . These are grown adult men. I find it hard to believe they are so insecure that they need family around them to support their mental state of mind. If anything ,they are the ones having to look after, support and provide security to their whanau in Australia, not the other way round.

The team were brilliant last season. Hadn’t felt so good about them in a long time. But now we’re back to the dark old days.

Last season we had a weaker roster and multiple issues yet we came out on top. For that reason, we need to stop bagging the players and point to the root cause - Nathan Brown.
Madge is probably the closest we could get as a “rocket up the bum” coach in the Bellamy realm?

I think last year Payten showed us what was possible with this bunch and we have a much better roster now, which makes you wonder?

I really wanted Nathan to succeed but the warning bells are ringing..

Mate he was the only option available after Payten turned them down. There is no way he would be a target for any club looking to rebuild. My guess is Gould told Robinson that months ago.
