I would drop Mannering, his legs have gone and he makes no impact on attack or defence these days.

I was sitting in the crowd at Mt Smart about 15 years ago and Lady Gnome remarked to me that the young kid in the suit sitting with the other players not in the team was "too skinny to ever be a league player".

That young man was Simon Mannering, which just goes to show that my wife knows fuck all about fucking anything.

    Team named for #Mannering300
Milestone man Simon Mannering will be centre stage in an unchanged starting line-up for his historic 300th NRL appearance when the Vodafone Warriors face Canberra in their final regular season match at Mount Smart Stadium on Friday (8.00pm kick-off).

In his 14th and final first-grade campaign one-club Mannering – who turned 32 today – will become the first player to appear in 300 matches for the club, just the 34th to reach the mark in the competition’s 100-year history and only the 16th to do so for a single club.

He’ll again be at loose forward with Tohu Harris confirmed to start in the second row after initially being listed on the bench for his comeback appearance in last Friday night’s impressive 36-16 win over Penrith.

    Beale on the bench......
Green isn even in the extended squad. I bet he will make great use of the coaches box.

Playing the team with the most massive pack in the comp........makes sense to meet fire with fire and select the smallest bench in the comp.

I would prefer Pulu in there somewhere but would guess that looking at the selections the plan is to run them off their feet. Will work if we get our share of possession and don't make any mistakes.
We will need to absorb a lot of early forward pressure and the old one run up hit up attack plan won't cut it this Friday.
Looking forward to a good performance and therefore a win this Friday with a home semi the prize.
    Lots riding on this game.

Pleased that they have kept Hiku starting, gutted they have put Beale on the bench.

Swap Beale and Pulu and I would be happy.

my exact thoughts. we have enough players versatile enough to cover injuries in the backs, id feel more comfortable with Pulu as insurance/luxury sub over Beale or Hiku.

I don't get it, so obviously the "other" centre spot is always going to be out of Beale/Hiku? Is Kata that good that his place has never been in doubt? I guess Stephen didn't read my previous post about just for once having Hiku/Beale in the centres.... Dam u Kearney. Other than that, team all good. :)

Expecting Pulu to play anyway and for Beale to drop off he Bench.

If not they can only be looking at who is training hard and playing well

Either way I don't think we have had players of the Quality of Pulu, Lawton, and Lino in reserve for a very long time, probably 2002.

They NRL want to limit interchanges to tire players and make the game more open.
Kearney does it to his own team by choice.
It’s not smart SK. I know you think it offers you a point of difference but we don’t need it. We can beat any team on the day without playing a 2 forward pack bench. Just give the guys a chance.
