I think 90% of us would get Kearneys team right in a quiz for our lives.

Harris and Lino back but Green out
Experienced back rower Tohu Harris returns from injury while Mason Lino replaces an injured Blake Green in the halves for the Vodafone Warriors’ 24th-round NRL clash against Penrith at Mount Smart Stadium on Friday (8.00pm kick-off).
Lino’s selection at standoff is the only change to the starting line-up used in the last three matches against St George Illawarra, Newcastle and Canterbury-Bankstown as the Vodafone Warriors strive to confirm their place in the NRL finals for the first time since 2011.

Harris comes onto the bench for Leivaha Pulu after being side-lined since June 29 with meniscus tears in both knees.

Named on the bench again is utility back Peta Hiku, who is set to make his 100th career appearance after joining the club this season following a total of 80 games for Manly-Warringah and Penrith from 2013-2017.

The biggest individual milestone in the Vodafone Warriors’ history looms large with Simon Mannering playing his 299th game this week as he eyes becoming the first player to rack up 300 matches for the club in the final regular season game against Canberra on Friday week.

Veteran playmaker Green, missing from the line-up for just the second time this year, is expected to return from a calf injury against the Raiders.

It gives Lino the opportunity to make his seventh appearance of the season and only his second in tandem with Shaun Johnson after the pair lined up against Melbourne in the 6-12 loss on July 22.

While the Vodafone Warriors lose one of their leaders in Green, they welcome back another in Harris who has missed the last six games against Penrith, Brisbane, Gold Coast, St George Illawarra, Newcastle and Canterbury-Bankstown. He needed minor surgery to repair a tear in his left knee after the June 29 match against Cronulla before succumbing to the same complaint in his right knee in a training session as he was preparing to make his comeback against the Dragons.

The Vodafone Warriors sit eighth on the ladder with 28 points, two behind the Dragons, Panthers and Sharks with the Storm, Roosters and Rabbitohs all locked on 32 points at the top of the table.

Penrith rebounded from an 18-50 loss to Brisbane with three late comebacks to beat the Sea Eagles, Raiders and Titans but lost 12-20 to the Knights last Saturday.

In 40 meetings since 1995, the Vodafone Warriors have 16 wins and the Panthers 23 with one match drawn.

The Vodafone Warriors have won only two of the last 10 contests against Penrith, both of those at Mount Smart Stadium (2014 and 2016) while the ledger is 9-9 in the 18 games the two sides have played in Auckland.

Do people think Tohu will be a late swap into the starting side, and Pulu will replace Hiku on the bench? Or is that too sensible, and we have to keep Hiku to keep the pine nice and warm?

    Sucks that Green is out.
Sucks that Pulu is regarded below Hiku and Tevaga on the bench.
Sucks that Sao is no longer in the plans.
    Great that Lisone isnt back.

WTF Kearney, why the fuck do you drop Pulu to 18th man, needs to be in the starting lineup with Papalii moving to the bench,
at least have him in the 17 instead of Hiku, why is it so hard for you to pick a decent bench that everybody else can see, very
    frustrating.

A hybrid, a prop, an edge rower and a centre.

So refreshing to see a coach trying to reinvent the wheel, and think outside the box.

Penrith rolled us in the forwards last time and by the looks of that bench, may very well do the same again.
I must admit Tevaga is starting to grow on me with his spirited runs, but geez he can make an error at a crucial time.
Beale must still be in doubt, which is most likely why Hiku and Gelling are both included.
Hopefully Lino is a bit more composed this time as he looked a bit frazzled against the Storm last time.

    I’ve had enough of Kearney.
    Call Wayne.

Let’s get a trainer and up our intensity. Then play a 3 man bench so we go back to square one.

It’s Kearney thinking he is onto something groundbreaking.
    Guys a fucking idiot.
I bet we lose the next two and miss the 8.
Then you can fuck off with your shit bench.
    I thought McFadden was bad

I don’t think Pulu is back to full fitness. I think his foot is genuinely impacting his performance. He is running very very slowly carting the ball forward. There is a stark difference from his pre injury form.

    2 words about Tohu !!

THANK FUCK......thank fuck he is back
Been missing alot on that edge, especially in attack! Im still not sold on Papalii. Tohu should set up his outsides much better.

Pulu is carrying an injury. Banger isn't 100% but will more than likely play. He was close to coming back last week...

Everybody was frazzled against the storm. Especially if we are referring to the Anzac debacle

PS. Thank you to the judiciary for bending over backwards in recent weeks to allow players that should be suspended for striking to keep playing! Greatly appreciated. - Phil

PPS. Thanks for bending over even further to make it grade 1 contrary conduct!
