The Agent Accreditation Committee confirmed today that it was yet to reach a decision in relation to any penalty against player agent George Mimis.
Reports this week that a decision had been reached were incorrect. The Committee had found on August 18 that the player manager had executed an improper contract but the Committee deferred the issue of penalty at that point.
Committee Chairman Geoff Bellew said today:
“The Committee met on 31 August 2006 and on that occasion heard submissions from Mr Mimis’ legal representative on the issue of what penalty should be imposed, following the earlier finding which had been made.
A further issue arose in relation to the matter, which has now been the subject of further written submissions on Mr Mimis’ behalf. Those further submissions will be discussed by the Committee when it next meets on Thursday 28 September.
“The suggestion that the Committee has already made a decision is simply wrongÀÂ.
