Don't get me wrong. I'm not against borrowing and spending on infrastructure. Just seems a bit out of whack having spending and headlines on this when we have a failing healthcare for example. There is land in Manukau that was gifted for us as a hospital grounds. Please, please let the next headline be new hospital being built...
If you’re talking about the land in Wiri next to the SuperClinic (between Kerrs Road and Great South Road, sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I drove past that today and it’s all being developed for new housing. It became a Special Housing Area under the previous National Government.

All of it? That's a bit dumb. There is a lot of land there. I thought it was gifted on the proviso it was used for a healthcare facility. Nothing stopping any government from changing it's designation and using it for a hospital is there?

The government of propaganda:

‘Since the current Government took office, the number of communications specialists have ballooned. Each minister has at least two press secretaries. (Ardern has four).

In the year Labour took office, the Ministry for the Environment had 10 PR staff. They now have 18. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade more than doubled their staff – up to 25.

MBIE blew out from 48 staff to 64. None of those five dozen specialists could give me those figures for many weeks.’

Unbelievable amount of people working on massaging the messages! 64 in one government department - wow. Here’s me thinking they might have 1 in a government department! That’s a lot of manipulating that’s being done.

Andrea Vance is one of the few political journalists in my book who has any credibility.

Unfortunately, nobody cares anymore and life is what it is here until it affects somebody. Other than that Nimby.

Andrea Vance is a class act.

Cindy is a quiet worker. She has surprised many people including me with her ability to "communicate".

However when you consider she was taught the trade by Helen Clark and Heather Simpson, it should not be a surprise.

What is need is a decent opposition, and that just isn't there and John Luxton won't make much change either.

Ladies and jellybeans get used to the fact that we rely on Grant Robertson to save this ship. I fear that he is only average ability but he stands out from the crowd because of it.

At least we don't have Boris Johnson or some of those loonies from the GOP to deal with.

This is the biggest problem in politics - and it’s a worldwide issue. Those who control the media, control the message:

"New Zealand now has many more public relations practitioners than journalists. The latest census results show about 8000 people work in PR, greatly overshadowing the roughly 1600 journalists working in print and broadcasting. Other calculations have put the ratio of PR-to-journalists at 10:1. Many of the PR professionals work directly for the politicians, government departments, or local government authorities."

10 PR people for every journalist! The journalists are so time poor that we basically get the PR people tells us what they want us to hear, while hidden behind the media as their front people.

Yep, and disagree with them and you are a [insert one word label here of your preference] and your career/life is over.

This could have something to do with the volume of written questions from the opposition put to the ministries.
Each ministry has a 5 day limit to answer written questions submitted by the opposition.
2021 – 27,065 (to June) written questions
2020 – 19,732 written questions

Also, which govt or organisation isn't trying to control the narrative?

What a piece of shit, criticising a guy with a history of mental problems.
If Muller had withdrawn from public life I agree. The fact he re-stood as an MP and was re-elected means he’s chosen to be back in ‘the game’ with all the shit that comes at you...

Muller caused all his own issues and has kept himself in the firing line.

Sometimes mental pressure is part of your job and you can’t use it as a shield if you’ve chosen that job.
