Its been a few days since we unveiled the site letting you guys play and explore. A few of you seemed to have found a few new features, so its time to show them to the rest of you guys to hopefully make your forum experience better.

Push Notifications
One of our most requested feature is push notifications. So what is push notifications? Its basically a realtime notification on your smartphone or your desktop browser, your browser does not even need to be open at the time. So say is someone liked your post, replied to your post, send your a private message, you will be able to receive that notification in realtime on your mobile phone/desktop browser even if you were not browsing the site.

To set it up, you need to enable push notifications. You can then control what you would like a normal alert for, or a Push notification for. Default is yes to all if you enable it. This needs to be done for each device you want to get sent a push notification to i.e. Computer, Mobile Phone browser.

40121

Once setup, you will automatically get a notification in realtime on your desktop or mobile phone as you get an alert.

40122

But...there is some bad news. Well for Apple users. It will not work on IOS browsers i.e. Safari. This is due to how Apple does not like to follow standards...

Reactions
In the past we were able to mark a post as a Like, Funny, Inappropriate or Offtopic. We have removed those and gone with the way that Facebook does reactions. You can react to a post as to how that post makes you feel. Default action of the button will automatically Like a post as we assume that is what most people will do. However if you want to react to a post differently, you need to hover over the button to open up other choices (on mobile press on the button for a millsecond to expose the additional menu for reactions. The below shows you how it works.
40120

Bookmarks
It is now possible to bookmark posts that you can refer to later for either reference or to reply to later.
To do so, you need to enable the bookmark button for that post you want to bookmark. Optionally you can write your own message regarding the post.
40125

To view your list of personal bookmarks, goto your account, and there will be a new bookmarks tab presented. You can then click on the bookmark to visit that post instantly.
40126

Tables
It is now possible to add tables to any post. Example shown below on how to use.

40124

Unfurl URLs
What unfurl does is automatically expand any links you post to expose part of the website content to show a little preview. The below example shows me posting a link, and upon pressing the reply button, automatically expands the link to display part of the content. This is similar to how you can post a twitter, facebook and many other links on the site as previously, which has now been expanded.
40119

This is currently an experimental feature and may be disabled. I just really dont like how we dont have any control on how not to unfurl internal site links.

Markdown
If you use whatsapp or other applications that support markdown support you will know how useful it is to use characters to emphasise parts of your post by adding additional characters.

Player Ratings
(coming soon)

One more thing. There are still some additional features that may be added in the future. I understand that there are some ads shown on the site that are particularly intrusive especially on a mobile. That will be tweaked soon. Just a reminder that if you wish to automatically have an ad free experience on the site, you can become a site contributor. All money raised helps us provide a better site for the Warriors community for the price of around a cup of coffee a month.

Feel free to use this thread as a testing playground or ask any questions regarding how to use these features.

Emojis
Ever felt that the list of smilies from the menu doesnt convey your message well enough? Well now you can enjoy full list of emojis in addition to the smilies provided via the menu and smartphone with your message.

I use a Samsung 7 phone on this site. Before the upgrade, if I was reading a thread I could click on Forums up the top to get back to the home page. Now I have to go to the menu and go from there. It's an extra step. Is it just my phone? Cheers

Unfortunately it is an extra step as every navigation item is now on the menu on the left hand side. However, if you click the logo next to the menu it will take you back to forums directly to the homepage. Hope that helps.

A contributor is someone who helps via contribution towards the site so we are able to upkeep this site, add new features, have prizes for comps etc. More information here.

Awesome work Fam
Really impressed
Have the following question and apologies if I have missed something

When I’m in a thread that is say 80 pages deep and I want to flick a few pages foward or back I can’t seem to find multiple page numbers to go to, for example:

I’m on page 40
Want to go to page 48
I need to click the arrow
However need to scroll to the bottom of page each click

Sorry for the too many words bro

On Desktop, click the ... to open up a 'Go to Page' Popup. You then enter the page number and press Go, to goto that page. See example below.

On Mobile, Click the x of x button to do the same.

Avatar Selection

You are now able to select a predefined list of avatars for your account. Rizzah Rizzah has kindly created many different variations of skintones/hair colours donning our home jersey. Female versions will be added later today. As always you are also able to use any image of your choice as your avatar.

To update your avatar, go here.

if i am opening a thread which i have viewed previously but has new posts (ie not a thread that i am watching) it doesn't go to the first post that is new.

Sometimes the threads that i am watching dont come up with an alert when there are new posts in them

Yeah I have noticed that. It happens when using the Latest Replies widget at the top of forum page. Will look into that. Old site had the same issue with that widget.

Can you post a screenshot of your alert settings under your account preferences by PM please. If you also go in your alerts do you see the alert item there (I.e. the alert has been read)?

Hi Tahjay, really enjoying and appreciating all the work you have put into the site and the new upgrades, big ups for that.
Just an idea, but how hard would it be to add a meh/neutral emoji to the like selection. There have been a few posts this would be ideal, as the sad emoji is a bit too far for my reaction.
*this is just my thought anyway and very stoked with all your work.
Having more than the current 5 or 6 options might start getting too busy as well.

Hi mate, thanks for the feedback. We may look into modifying the options you have to rate posts later on in the season, as we see what is used/what isnt, and to consolidate some of them. Right now, there is quite a few options already, and we are mindful to not have ratings that may result in users giving each other meh/dislike type ratings as a way of revenge for someone doing that to their posts.

We may choose to test them out in non Warriors related threads in the future to see how it goes, but there is unlikely to be any changes this season anyway in regards to post ratings.

Appreciate the feedback and if you have any others, please feel free to post them.

As a side note - Rating Players performance in a match will be coming soon. We had that past few seasons but it was rather clunky, so there have been some improvements in the user interface for that to make ratings easier. Still requires a bit of work on the mobile version view especially.

Yes this is a valid point that I hadn't considered, opening a bit of a tit for tat back and forth which could lead to a negative experience, so fully agree with you there.

Player ratings could be an interesting experience, curious to see what people pick up from the game.
Normally I can't watch the live game without a few brews, so would add another aspect rewatching the game.

Yes sure you and the team have earned a break for a while after all the work you've put into the updates.
Cheers
