Hey as some as you know my wife and I will be making our first ever trip to a warriors game in mt smart stadium this sunday to take on the storm. Ive been trying to suss out transport (how to get to the stadium and back from auckland cbd) and so far have come up with no answers. Were from palmerston north so are complete strangers to the city of auckland, therefore have no sense of direction lol. Ive been told trains a good way of getting there but having looked on the internet it looks like the trains only run from monday to friday? Is bus a good option? if so is it easy to find? well be leaving from queen street which I believe is one of the main streets of auckland and needing to go back to queen street when we come back. can anyone help out?

Hire a car if you are in Auckland mate, and new to Auckland. Best way to see everything. Parking right at the gates of the stadium is $10, and taxis galore at the end of the game. If you are interested i can try to hook you up with an Avis code.

Tell you what - we're going and if we drive I'll give you a lift!

We can pick you up from downtown somewhere as we come from the North Shore.

I have a ruptured Achilles so haven't decided to get a bus or drive but will know in the next day or so

If you're leaving from Queen St, and don't know the city, I definitely recommend taking the train. Leaves from the bottom of Queen St (Britomart Station) and take the Southern train to... I can't remember if it's Onehunga or Penrose... but a quick google search will tell you. The station is about a 5-10 minute walk away from the stadium.

https://www.maxx.co.nz/info/events/vodafone-warriors.aspx

First timetable shows from South to Britomart
second timetable shows from Britomart to the game (south)

There is a train that leaves britomart at 2.20pm or 3.20pm if you want to cut it close (you need to catch the trains that stop in onehunga or Te Papapa) I think Te Papapa is the closer stop

it says there is a train back to the city that leaves the onehunga stop at about 6.20

Hope this helps

I'm not to familiar with the public transport, but one way I can think if is you could catch a bus (233) up to New Lynn bus depot than jump on the 008 or 009 which will get you close to Mt Smart ( o'rouke st I believe) with just a wee walk to the ground. There's probably an easier way than this but yea this is the only way I can think off.

Alternatively you could always hire a car for the day, and just drive up ?
