I'm gonna have to go with Big Sam Rapira. He keeps his head down and work rate up... Doesn't make the highlights reel all that much but is solid as they come and definitely aint going nowhere other than first grade next year...

Now that's depressing, considering what he could do to our season tomorrow... Ha Ha?Bill Tupou
Actually only noticed that this season. He plays more like a Lock/hooker. Always chases hard out of dummy and puts some great pressure on the halves. Sadly he's been noticed in that area of the game for the wrong reasons lately but he is a hard worker in that area and deserves the attention. Good on ya Sup42 ...Mannering is highly rated imo by all and sundry lol
Sam Rapira gets my vote , one I'm a fan ( declare the bias so haters can spare reading further ) two Rapira runs hard ( go to the park and see it on TV the impact is nonsense ) chases the hardest out of marker of anyone in this team.
yeah bro he's too bloody good at it for the Reffs liking , I've replayed a few of those slap downs and the ball has cleared the ruck , but the Reffs treat a pass from Dummy half like a slap on the wrist in basketball ( wrongly imo ) once its transitioned to the act of passing if Rapira stood square it's like any pass in the game It's no longer part of what is defined as the RuckActually only noticed that this season. Easy. Simon Mannering. Does all the thankless type tasks such cleaning up behind the ruck area, chasing kicks, OTL scrambling defence. Will never make the highlight reels but its no surprise that every player I have ever spoken to rates his on field and off field actions as being the mark of a true leader. I have never heard a fellow player say anything but good things about him and all, without fail, speak highly of his contribution and work ethic. Thats exactly why he is the captain of our team and nation...
While he may have technically be in the right the fact that he keeps doing it while being penalized is stupid (the last one being with 2 mins to go when we are up by 2 is about as stupid as it gets). I saw one time he wasn't penalized but was ruled to have played at the ball, the opposition team dived on the ball and got a repeat set. It is a dumb low percentage play. I would prefer the refs to err on the side of penalizing if it is close as no one wants to watch a game where markers are constantly swatting at the dummy halves hands.yeah bro he's too bloody good at it for the Reffs liking , I've replayed a few of those slap downs and the ball has cleared the ruck , but the Reffs treat a pass from Dummy half like a slap on the wrist in basketball ( wrongly imo ) once its transitioned to the act of passing if Rapira stood square it's like any pass in the game It's no longer part of what is defined as the Ruck
The ruck is located between the player playing-the-ball and the defending marker.[5] The ruck exists during the time between a tackle being completed and the subsequent play-the-ball being completed.[6] The ball cannot be interfered with by a defending player whilst it is in the ruck, otherwise a penalty will be issued against that player's team.
WTF??Ropo for sure guys, did you see his game last week? Two tries! He's back to his prime and now the best outside back in the game easily whether it's centre, wing or fullback.
Todays display showed how much he has been holding Manu back. This might be unpopular but my vote goes to Neilson. Our left edge defence is 10 times better than last year, he may not pass as much as some would like, but he does the job and can draw and pass when needed. After years of 2nd rowers filling in at centre its such a breath of fresh air to have a solid dependable proffessional
