Warriors CEO Cameron George:

“Kurt is interested in what his future may look like and at this point in time, he is weighing things up. He was here on the weekend, he had a look around and he is contracted to the Broncos. Once we understand where he stands with the Broncos, then we can have further discussions. If we can be a part of that, we would love to talk with him further. That’s where we are at. We are waiting to understand what his thoughts are and we’ll go from there. A key attribute is Kurt’s leadership and experience. He is a quality footy player, he has won a premiership."

“We haven’t got to the point yet of any deals. The first thing we need to do is understand whether a player wants to relocate and if they are, then we move forward. Being in New Zealand has its challenges for signing Australian players, but there’s also a lot of upside too. We have a much better taxation system here, we don’t pay stamp duty for houses, it’s a great lifestyle and a great opportunity to raise a young family in such a great country. The footy world in New Zealand is a lot of fun, we have a lot of unique things to offer and hopefully Kurt wants to be a part of that.”

Good grief. Let's hope behind closed doors they have a better pitch than the fucking tax system

and people bag CG.

He's coming across as a smart operator. I wonder how much his standing in the fan base is based on the teams past performances.

CG's handling it well, not spruiking that Kurt's definately coming and definitely hates the Broncos and wants out now, which would wind the Broncos up.
Don't know if "no stamp duty for houses" is a huge incentive for living here, we still do things I don't understand personally like buying houses by auction, which of course Aussies do as well, but anyhoo....
Tonbridge, I think a lot of folk still haven't forgiven CG for screwing around with SJ at the end of 2018: "Hey, Shaun, you ain't worth as much as you think, bo'. Look around and see if I'm wrong." Who knows how much he got offered by the Sharks, maybe he didn't even hang around to see what the Warriors were offering, but however you feel about Shaun's Value To Performance Ratio, CG should have simply kept his mouth shut, let SJ and his manager do their asking around other clubs, as they were obviously entitled to do, then made the Warriors' position known.

I kinda like a AFB-Max King swap. Although it looks like King is on his last year anyway. So that might fall on its head.

Kings stats rd 1-5 (according to league live)
1. Sea Eagles (A) Lose 31-6, 14 runs for 131m, 35 of 36 tackles, 1 tackle break.
2. Storm (A) win 26-12, 17 runs for 194m, 35 of 38 tackles, 2 offloads.
3. Tigers (H) win 26-22, 15 runs for 149m, 37 of 39 tackles, 1 line break, 3 errors
4. Warriors (A) lose 16-14, 13 runs for 124m, 48 of 49 tackles, 1 offload, 1 penalty conceded.
5. Cowboys (H) win 15-14, 16 runs for 166m, 38 of 41 tackles, 1 tackle break.

Then the bulldogs turned to shit. His season stats aren’t as good as these but still decent. What else is out there of the likely AFB destinations.

No I don’t think he’s the answer to all our problems btw. His stats are slightly better than BHU in a worse team. We should be able to afford both lol

nice trolling....
Just facts son, DWZ got winger of the year in spite of Berry. Sorry to interrupt the circle jerk though, you may continue. God knows I'd love if he becomes even half as good as ya'll say.

Can someone give an example of a similar trade to what we're proposing happened? We gave up Walsh for nothing and actually did the Broncos a big favour in handing him over.

Yep, he also had some bad injury problems through the middle of the season that meant he took a while to get back to full fitness on return.
