And why all this fuss over mckinnon when theres so much other players comin off contract example karmichael hunt and jake webster whats so special about mckinnon do u think he will be a good buy for the warriors i personally think he isnt and never will be better then webb

No offense girl but I think you have to look at the over all situation. WE CAN'T KEEP EVERYONE!

I think it's a little harsh to say all that about Wade, when firstly we don't know for sure he's going to Auckland and secondly he hasn't even played for us and there shouldn't be any comparions with Webby anyway. We all know what Webby's been capable for a while. Different players have different skills that make them who they are.

It's like saying Ravs is better than Stacey! Which, isn't at all true. Ravs is a talent on his own and Stacey was always a talent in his own right. Playing in the same position but differently

well this is the reality of the warriors sadly. having the 2 best props in the game on huge contracts and some other players comes at a price. that price sadly means that player like webb who demand big money can't be kept. wade mckinnon is a great first grade fullback and if we get him will do a fine job

That is a very uneducated statement ...

Firstly, Wade hasn't even got to New Zealand and you are doubting him already. That sucks.

Meli played poorly for two season and we let him go, I don't see the logic in keepin him. Same with Toopi - he is no good to us anymore, logic says to release them. They were both internationals that demanded high salaries. Instead we now have Mannering and Ah Van there doing a fine job and at a much lower cost to the club. Yes we lost Iafeta however we couldn't afford $500k that other clubs were offering and we had to bite the bullet and accept reality. The positive side of this is that we have another great prop in Evarn and we have the Junior Kiwis captain making regular appearances in Sam Rapira.

The club screwed up purchasing two high profile players and giving them too much - but was it worth it? If we make the Top 8 this year I could probably say yes it was because management have handled it pretty god damn well and the roster has matured into a very good side even with the high cost of our two leaders. The benefit of having them around has very much outweighed the cost to get them here (not including the -4).

Thirdly, Wade is a great fullback. He is very similar in his stats to Webb and many believe that he will fit in nicely with the style that the Warriors play.

And finally you say we are signing youngsters who will sit in the reserve grade? This really ticked me off. Last year we signed Gatis and Rovelli as new kids on the block. And wow, the two selections could not be any better. Although Gatis is being rested at the moment, Rovelli is proving to be something very special. Cleary knew his shit, and he employed it well. Lets hope Aiden Kirk is the same. Cleary might just have an eye for talent.

So yeah, a very uneducated post I must say.

sadly its true you cant keep every1 but scurrah never even made an offer to webb. webb has made outstanding displays in all games this year and i think they should focus on him more than any other player because he is the cause of most tries with his bak up skills and foot work but i never ment to put mckinnon down im just pointing out that webb is one of the best full baks in the game and we shouldve tried to keep him but now that he is going to leeds we should also consider karmichael hunt he is also a very good player one that might just take the warriors far i havnt really watched any eels games this year so i cant say wether mckinnon is a good or bad fullback but i no i can speek for alot of people wen i say hunt is a man we should consider

Piece of advice: Go read the rest of the threads that were started about Webby. Everyone would love to keep him, the Warriors too. If you read the annoucement on the official warriors website you WILL KNOW WHAT WAYNE thought and felt about the situation. They don't want to see him go either. The only reason they didn't put an offer to him is because bugger all of what Webby and the manager were thinking. They already had a set price in mind and they weren't going to push for it. Did they really care about what the Warriors had to go through in getting guys like Pricey and Wiki? Did they consider the fact because of the unfortunate salary cap problem? Not really.

I'm as much a Webby fan myself, but in this world and in sport you can't always have what you want. That's the reality of it. If we had kept Webby and each year his demand went higher, we lose the risk of being able to pick up junior kiwis in the lower grades or even taking a sniff of the australian nrl club's second and third tier teams.

And I agree with Wiki, it's not really fair to slate Wade this early on. If I recall correctly, people said similar things about Ravs last year...his grand final appaererance didn't exactly exisit many of us but look at where he stands with the side now.

and btw I'm not sure how Karmichael Hunt got into your argument either... and ps no you can't speak for other people. They have their own voice.

I personally wouldn't want Khunt in the warriors. Who wants a player with no passion or pride in his homeland. His lack off mana would seriously affect the other kiwis in the warriors who play for pride in their jersey and people. He probably wouldn't come here anyway and I hope he never does apart for a hiding once a year from the warriors.

of the players u listed there that have not had a look in i dont consider any of them up to nrl standards ive seen them all play bartercard.....and you could hardly see the difference between the likes of hifo, vasau and bauer who are in the warriors development compared to the other bartercard players......unlike when gatis or even rapira and mannering played bartercard.......for me the rookies that have stepped it up this year have deserved so........as with constantine i believe he is definately nrl material.......he has been ripping it up in fox memorial for otahuhu......their best player all year.....but he has got a lot of years ahead of him and does not need to play nrl just yet.....he is only 16 or 17........maybe next year he may get a chance.......he is gonna be an awesome centre........

perhaps this kirk fella maybe a waste of time......but we have to wait and see.......the blokes have been pretty accurate with their judgement of talent so far

Wade is obviously statistically the same as Webb as a player. The difference is teh cost to have Wade over Webb.

Daniel Vasau is out for the year due to injury and many of the other development players are in the same boat or are playing well in bartercard and havent looked like they would threaten the starting 17.

Good on Patrick Ah Van to secure himself a wing spot and Evarn to play consistently for long periods! Although Evarn doesnt make Feka bull dozing runs he is way more consistent with hit ups and defence! -Awesome for the Richmond Bulldogs boy to score a try yesterday!

Cooper is on the outter my friend, dont be surprised if he is not at the club next year.

I think the thinking next year is Mckinnon at Fullback with Kirk as his backup. You wont be seeing Ah Van in the #1 jersey in the near future, especially since we seem to be lacking in the wing stocks now.

I would love for Vuna to get a run soon however.
