That would surprise me as he hasn't really shown the required form, however it would probably be good for both him and the Warriors, Hayne and Jennings had offered nothing till wednesday night and it also helps the " you won't get picked from NZ" belief.

Martell has been poor for us recenty and i'm not entirely sure what he'd bring to SOO if i'm being honest. Watmough is a better player all round IMO. Matmoughs fast feet around tiring forwards would be a better option and he also brings rock solid defense.
2 nil Queensland and probably a clean sweep?

Watmough has been tried and tested. They need to chance their arm against Qld, and score points. When NSW had possesion they didn't look like scoring except off kicks. At least Mateo would give them another option of scoring points. I think they should've picked him in origin 1. They need to try something different, or they'll just suffer the same results.

Wow I definately think Watmough is the much better option, he is just a better player than Mateo. I really don't think Mateo has done anything to deserve a NSW call up after his play this season for us. He was exceptional for us v the Bulldogs, our best player by a mile and since then he has been so quiet. I would take Watmough every single day of the week.

What are they basing that on? Surely Watmough is next in line, it was ridiculous he missed out as it was. He's one of the most mobile backrowers around, I would be incredibly surprised if it isn't Watmough who gets a call up.

Watmough is easily the next cab of the rank but lets be honest...it doesn't matter who they pick!

I didn't see either tackle but I see Tamou has been cleared and is available for SOO while Matai has been charged, just wondering if anyone that saw the tackle thinks Tamou would have gotten off if it was a week before a test and he was in the Kiwis?

Grade Four charge for Matai :

Option A ) three weeks side line

Option B) two weeks with an early Guilty Plea

Option C) Matai convinces the Judiciary he's a Clean player and there was nothing.........never mind there is no option C )

I can see that with williams out mateo might have a chance to come off the bench.. it will be good because he does add another dimenion in attack but he doesnt perform consistantly for me.

NSW have supposed to of had the superior backrowers for the past however many seasons - and it's been worth squat all. Maybe they need to throw the spanner in the works a bit and give Mateo 30 minutes off the bench. While his form hasn't been poor this last month, he hasn't really done much of note, so I can understand why they wouldn't chose him.

They picked Jennings and Hayne who both have offered next to nothing this season, I'd like to think Mateo might get a big dose of enthusiasm if he goes into camp for game 2 and would come back here keen to show he's up for the last game by doing the business for the Warriors as well.
