No mate. Their so called Prems who were replaced with what looked like their senior A team so as to throw the game and let Marist in ahead of Papakura. Marist had lost to Pt twice in the round robin. Kura had beaten Pt twice. Marist and Papakura were tied for 4th place. Papakura had a better points diff of about 53. We have heard there had been a meeting between the clubs during the week about the outcome of the game. Marist and Pt Chev new what their target was before their game as Papakura had played at 11 in the morning for the TV game. It is fairly obvious that the difference of 93 points between 3rd and 4th place is a jack up

No big guns the whole year and they were certainties for 3rd. C'mon, MT.W. 96 nil doesn't happen unless there's a massive mismatch, thrown game, or both.

Take away any accusations of collusion and at the very least it's still an absolutely incredible coincidence.

My last year playing senior club hockey, one team tried to ensure my side didn't make the top four by throwing their game and getting the fifth placed team to pass us on Goal difference. We had to win the last game of the regular season over the runaway competition leaders by 4 goals. Ended up winning it 6-1. Played the team that throw their game in the final and we ended up beating them by 3-2 on penalties. I saved 2 penalty stokes that day. Revenge, as they say, was sweet!!!!
