HASTINGS - The sight of glamour National Rugby League club Manly Sea Eagles at Hastings' Nelson Park may be about to become a regular one.
The Sea Eagles and Rugby League Hawke's Bay (RLHB) have begun discussions about the formation of a strategic alliance, which could include an annual pre-season fixture in Hastings, RLHB chairman Denis O'Reilly said.
O'Reilly has held preliminary talks with Manly chief executive Pat Wilson and the details of the partnership will be confirmed early next year when RLHB representative and former New Zealand international Kevin Tamati meet Sea Eagles officials.
O'Reilly said the idea was hatched after a conversation between Tamati and Manly's recruitment officer, former New South Wales and Australian forward Noel Cleal.
