I expect this to be Grant Rovellis most impotant game of the year, he comes up against the best Rugby League player in the world on sunday, I don't expect him to get the better of Joey on sunday.
Halfback is the most "mentall" rather than "physical" position in rugby league.
If Andrew Johns plays to 80% of his best then that means Ravs will see stuff he hasn't seen before the way he controls the game etc... as with every week I think Rovelli will be better than the week before, if the warriors halfback reflects on this game the week after we could see a huge improvement.
Asssuming he doesn't lose confidence or somthing silly.

Great post JonB. I agree. Rovelli has become one of the main cogs in this team. I am prepared to give him more time, but this is a great chance for him to measure himself against quality opposition.

Yeah, should be a good match-up, there was a bit of hype last year when the in-form Johns came up against Tim Smith, the brilliant Eels rookie. Joey outplayed Smith and consequently the Knights won.

Too true, and if look at the way Smith has performed this year...been a bit disappointing by his standards. Like I say I hope Ravs doesn't get too caught up in the whole thing and just plays his way while at the same time learning from Joey. And most importantly for Ravs that he keeps improving.

Yeah, Smith has kind of gone downhill this season. Some of the matches he played last year he was incredible and had so much skill but he looks a bit devoid of form at the moment.

For sure; thou he's not the only one in the Eels camp that's being going downhill either.
I guess the difference ehre is that Ravs goes about his work quietly; it's not overly spectacular what he does it's just good on a team work basis you know. Mean Joey's stuff is more like individualistic at times where his mates just finish off the brilliance anyway. Same thing with Smith I 'poz

Mmm yeah Ravs did show 'em ;) am pleased for him. I particularly liked when he kicked the ball through and Sione picked it up! Classic.
