Referees coach Stuart Raper confirmed Leiulua shouldn't have been awarded a try against the Warriors.

What were your thoughts on Joseph Leilua's try for the Roosters against the Warriors? Did he and the Warriors defender both ground the ball simultaneously?

This is probably the toughest call we have had all year. After looking at it many times in slow motion and all the different angles, we believe the decision to award a try was wrong. We don’t believe Leilua had possession of the ball, he did get his hand on the ball, but the Warriors’ player grounds it with his arm. We believe that it was the wrong call. It should have been a line dropout.

I hoped it would be disallowed because I didn't think he had possession, but going to my old standard of would I want it allowed if the Warriors scored I'd have to say try similtanious grounding. The problem now is the Warriors will get one just like it this season and have it disallowed, there by getting their pants pulled down twice.

i actually thought it was a try at the time and changed my mind after watching the highlights

from the front on replay it looked like leilua had both hands on the ball and maras possession was questionable but from the sideline view it looked the exact opposite. they only really replayed the front on replay continually from memory during the game

there was a similar incident in the cowboys v knights game. to me that one was even more clear cut to be a try but was ruled to be line dropout.

I thought the BOD had to go to the Roosters...Johnson's try was almost exactly the same circumstances.

I didnt think it was a try but I thought he would go benefit of the doubt. Then I thought Johnsons was a straight try but he went with benefit of the doubt. go figure

I was happy enough for it to be BOD, I didn't think he really has downward pressure as the back of the arm isn't control for mine, but I was not screaming at the TV.

On the plus side for the officials they have just come out swinging for the Warriors in a game we won anyway, so they can feel like they are even handed without helping us one iota.

The NRL should adjust the Warriors +/- stats to reflect this obviously , anything short of that and the rooters got away with murder!
