Foran was perfect as captain lastnight. Even got in the refs face!

Foran would have been an excellent fit for the team , I was a 110% opposed to Carney.
side note: Shaun Johnson played on the right very well last night.

ill go with foran, hes a guaranteed selection now. we dont have the depth in the halves to give him any competition and unlike marshall and johnson he plays both ends of the field well

I'm a Mannering fan and I really rate him. But Foran was absolutely outstanding last night and proved why a) he should be in the team and b) why he should be the captain for the future. There's still a place for Mannering in the Kiwis, but he is not in my 17 at the moment. Benji's foot, Mannering's calf, could be a sign unfortunately.

I had no issue with Mannering being captain. But after seeing the way Foran took to it last night, I'd rather see him with the C next to his name. He played well, led by example and was in the ref's face at all the right times. Foran played awesome last night!

Will have to wait for my current Foran man crush to subside a little before I can make an honest and objective vote but I had nothing but admiration and respect for him out there last night. Certainly seemed to be a natural leader.

One thing I will bring up (sorry for the OTT) but Im questioning whether the inclusion of Benji is actually stifling Kierans game. Forans plays better as the main ball player.

Mannering vs Foran. With my man crush for Foran and undying loyalty to the Warriors its a hard call but I will say that I wouldnt be upset if Foran got the (c) nor would I worry if Mannering retained it. Possibly a co-captaincy or vice captaincy. Theres no reason why we cant have both leading the team and getting in the refs face...

Reasons why Foran should be captain:

Ive never seen a kiwis player talk so much, breathe as heavy because of being everywhere, give the best death stare to the refs, cause the refs to say things they regret (major/minor) he was almost omnipresent.
his interviews are solid and talks with conviction, he is a leader and would like to see him as a manly captain in the future.

the next step is Kearney having the balls to call up Simon and tell him he's still the warriors captain.lol

Yeah thought Foran went real well. Also Shaun Johnson surprised me with his front on tackles.
Shaun Johnson is better around this side than the NZW side. Thoughht Shaun Johnson possible carrying a couple of injuries -didnt run round like a headless chook which was pleasing.
This side -young-has the makings of some thing real good.

I thought he was not required -didnt do much

imagine if foran played for the warriors, developed a potent halves combo with shaun won a premiership together then take that combo into test match level, would be a great era of warriors/kiwis footy

I'm always pleased with him. Easily one of the best players in the world and at this point in time is well on track to becoming nz's first immortal.

Like a couple of others here I've always rated Mannering, and been happy enough to see him as the captain, but Foran really put his hand up for the job last night. To be honest, I've expected Mannering to show more signs of talking to the troops than he has been doing - I've only seen the games on the telly this year, so I haven't been able to have a thorough look at what he does when the team is grouped together, but he hasn't shown me what I wanted sadly.

I don't want him to be a ranter and raver, just get the lads focussed during those group moments. I'm hoping that's something that Elliott is working on with him.

Kearney now has a couple of really big decisions ahead of him... does he leave Foran as captain, and does he play Benji at all?

I think regardless of whether Kearney wants to or not, he wont dismiss Mannering. Changing the permanent captaincy twice in as many games would make him look very silly. Foran vice captain...
