Witt's obviously good enough to play @ 5/8, McKinnon is the next best who was on the market list, Ravs was the youngest given a big job to do after PL, and Fien and Gatis are top notices and Hohaia is till very much top of the class for covering three big positions. Aussies arenot the Warriors are makig their intentions very obvious. And we still have plenty of Kiwis around the team so I don't see why people think having aussies is a bad thing. Need I remind you we have an aussie coach, both current and in the past, and have had awsome Aussies for a fair few years. Eg; PJ, Campo..and the rest of them. And THEY NEVER had a problem with playing for a NZ based team.
As for Blinky and Sam, great to hear they'll be around for a while yet. Am glad that we are keeping them long term.
And all the best to Micheal in his move to Auckland
Nothing but positveness for this.
The Aussie coach point doesn't really hold water, because our last coach was Kemp, a Kiwi, and the coach before that was Daniel Anderson, who is part Maori. Before that we had Mark Graham, a Kiwi in the 80s, and before that, Graham Lowe, previous coach of the Kiwis. I think only John Monie was a true blue Aussie of all our coaches. But outside of that, I agree with your general statement.
I don't buy into the theory that as a club, the Warriors should only, (or predominantly), New Zealanders. The Warriors are a club, and they don't represent the country, despite their name. That's like buying into the similar theory that Team New Zealand actually represents New Zealand, when in actual fact it represents one yacht club. Otherwise America would have three national teams, lol!
