So the season is over for the juniors this year; a bit of an up and down season, but I thought it was still a good one.

Who is your player of the year?

For me I would nominate the following players:

John Palavi
Ligi Sao
Peta Hiku
David Bhana

With Ngataua Hukatai just missing out (when he change positions)

I would give it too Ligi Sao - for the majority of the NYC he was one of the top players.
Playing big minutes, working hard on attack and defense.
Yes, at times he was over-aggressive he but remember he is a prop lol

While I appreciate the work Bhana does.
The defense in the middle was terrible throughout the season.
I realise this was also the hooker fault.

Are you a Manly talent scout? They've already signed numbers 2 & 3 in your list, Ligi Sao and Peta Hiku,

I should be lol - now that crusher cleal is working for the dogs
Mate - Manly dont have any juniors at all so really a good opportunity for some of the kiwi boys to fast track their careers
They were signed for a reason - they were probably two of the most consistent performers throughout the year.

Palavi - improved on last year - a bit stronger, a bit faster etc and could leapfrog a few players next year

Bhana - He will win the award ...but a bit of meh. Why reward defense? when they clearly dont value Defense through their coaching and selections

I see what you mean, but then if defence in the team is at a premium, the one who has it in spades gets the prize, if only to make a point.

I think David Bhana won the TNT young player of the year; like what Saliva Havili won last year, whereas John Palavi won NYC player of the year last year, unsure about this year; I could be wrong

Bit confusing the 2 awards. So Peta Hiku player of the year? Fair enough i suppose (although Sao would've been my pick). Hiku played decent footy this year, but i felt his momentum sort of stalled once they started mucking around with him in the halves (which he clearly isnt). Looks a fine outside back prospect to me.

Fantastic player, IMO he played as well in the halves as anyone did and he will be the 1st junior that we will be saying, how the hell did we let him go. He has so much untapped potential it's ridiculous and I wouldn't be surprised to see a Will Hopoate like breakout year next year.

Not confusing at all really.

Remember selection was based on point from every game. There was a big stretch of games where Peta would have got players player of the day awards.
Same for Ligi Sao - so it would of been a dead heat between them.

Bhana would of come in third.

Peta like every good fullback can play standoff - however not in a side with out a dominant halfback or a team that lacks any structure.

Funny that - the two players who got the two highest votes are off too manly + clubman of the year is going to newcastle.
Sao got a 3 year deal at manly - so hard to compete with that.
But Hiku - could of offered some wing cover for the warriors.

Not too sure how old sulisi is from vulcans but he might be worth a training/vulcans contract.
He played for Mt Albert in the fox final and is playing for Auckland in the National Comp.
