The more I found out the more question 🧐

By the sounds of it I’m lucky to have made it out of Whangamata alive on my visits!

Murder capital of NZ!

He was only ever convicted of perverting the course of justice over the Armstrong killing.
Tell me how that happens???
He has been protected for years.
Didn’t he flee as well? Did he do time for perverting the course of justice? Did they prove he deliberately hit him as opposed to a straight accident? How did he get away with that!

You’re obviously very familiar with the case and community. Turners obviously into dodgy stuff. Is he involved in any gangs? Is he accepted/ popular within the community?

Yes he did flee the country for approximately 13 years I think. Did no jail time for the Armstrong killing. I’m told he backed over him so I doubt it was an accident but nevertheless the man died.
Turners and dodgy stuff? Oh yeah!! Most definitely!
Not known to have gang affiliation (maybe the blue type👮‍♂️??).
I don’t think he’s the most popular member of his community but held fear over many in his heyday and probably still does now.

Where did he go in those 13 years and any missing person cold cases there?

Thought he skipped the country just after Urban was found for 13 years, got escorted back by interpol, tried the same trick after the Bush Road incident but failed. I could be wrong….

Actually I think you may be right there.

”Milton was shot in the head, buried near a drug patch and his car driven to Rotorua forest and abandoned."

How often do this happen in the region ”… his [her] car driven to … and abandoned”? Who got the records of those type of events?

Thought 1: Tamihere was on the run for over 3 years in the Coromandel. He stole the tourists car, headed to Auckland and was spotted and arrested for jumping bail on his previous charges.

This was before he was ever a suspect in the Heidi case, which took a while to realise they were missing and track the car to Tamihere. When police knew he was a suspect he was already in custody.

So what’s the chances that the one time he decides to leave the Coromandel and get caught, is the time he stole a random murdered peoples car and their being no link?

Isn’t it more logical a significant event happened resulting in him changing the way he had lived for the past 3 years? Eg involvement in the murder?

Thought 2: Wishart’s book identified a Huia Foley who was violent, in the area and allegedly admitted to the crimes twice. Im not familiar with this suspect. Does anyone have more info? Would he have had any involvement with the Turners or Tamihere? Is there more evidence in Wisharts book than the confession?
Thought 1: Do we know that DT hadn’t been at home at all during the 3 years on the run?

Did DT leave so much simple second tracks of evidence but no forensic tracks and succeding cover the actuall crime spot and hiding the corpses so clever - one was found 18 month after the Swedes’ disappearance, one is still missing after 35 years!

Thought 2: Foley, too much of an insane freak to get away with a murder of the kind the Swedes corpses were “hidden”, one is still missing (well, maybe if you look the way, according to experts, Urban was frantically stabbed, Foley could be the one …)

Foley, at some point in early 1989 after an escape from a mental health institution he tried to rob the donations of his own church, chasing the priest around the Waihi Catholic Church - twice! But the priest won the race, got home and called the cops.

Foley dissappeard though, twisting his way, sleeping in the bush through

Waihi > Whangamata > Thames/Coromandel > Whitianga > Auckland

Foley, after stealing a friend’s car in Whitianga (late May 89’ about when the news broke of the missing Swedes) threatning him with a baseball bat; in the Auckland aerea Foley lost his arm waving it out of the window of the car after an attempted deliberatly head-on collission with a parked truck (“’… as if he was trying to commit suicide’ the truck driver said”).

Though, at his friends house he left an ”German army surplus sleeping bag” (European; not common in the aerea?). I think the police never found the Swedes’ sleeping bags.

”The unstable Foley’s zig-zag path through the Coromandel could easily have put him in contact with the Swedes, …”
