Reserve Grade and our pack are being looked at. Looking for at least one experienced forward. We've already seen some big movement with some of our props re Sam Rapira and Suaia Matagi. Been told the Reserve Graders will all be looked at and a lot will be gone in the next couple of seasons. Particularly the forwards.

Cant say anymore...

Well the options always there for players to step up and be awesome for the club...

Whether they take that option or not is completely up to them...

That's exactly right.... Hopefully yesterday wasn't a sign of how they have chosen to step up

Interesting.... with the arrival of Doyle, the amount of information I'd been receiving off the record from within the club had dried up to only a trickle - and certainly not worth posting. I'd assumed that these sort of changes you've mentioned were happening but hadn't heard anything from within "the camp" about it.

I think it's great Doyle is seemingly implementing a closed door policy on the Warriors future plans

Reminds me of that old adage ... loose lips sink ships

It was more of a step down really. Presented with a challenge and they try to get the coach fired again by losing. Only problem is the coach isn't the one doing all the mega changes at the club. And also when the reserves do it, without all the intensity and emotion of first grade, it's blatantly obvious to everyone what's happening... Player power doesn't exist in the NSWarriors team guys.

I know the reserves got a hiding yesterday but they were under strength and aren't they one of the top teams in the NSW cup?

I would prefer that the reserves were full of hungry ex-U20s players rather than people biding their time before heading off to the ESL.

Short answer: YES...

Do you think there is an opportunity for the club with Doyle at the helm with his business expertise and contacts both in New Zealand and Australia for the club to be able to generate better or some third party agreements to help sign players?

I think our reserves should be a pack of ravenous wolves all biting and chomping their way into the first grade squad...

Social club footy is for part timers...

Before that game they were 3rd and Wentworthville was 9th. I think guys like Palavi, Peteru, Poching basically everyone whos name starts with P are the sort of guys that haven't been able to take that next step and will be pushed aside.

Nathaniel Peteru would be lucky to be on a 3rd tier contract. Guys like Upu Pooching would only be on match payment contracts...

Doyle oversaw the Cap amendments around third party agreements and he still has an advisory role to his successor at the NRL, so he is the third party sponsorship guy.

Bell was on Radio sport not long after Doyle took over, he admitted that the Warriors had very little success in gaining third party sponsorship....he pretty much sounded out of his depth on the subject and waffled on about how they could look at it through some of their major sponsors (hard to believe that of all the shitty destinations in the NRL agents minds the Warriors were not using all means available).

I can accept that Third party sponsorship is hard to gain in NZ, but after all the years Dean Bell was at the Warriors, you would expect he would be up to speed on the subject.

As much as I admire & respect Dean Bell's achievements as a former player, his appointment always smacked a bit to me of the old "jobs for the old boys" philosophy for mine (this is the Warriors ... not the bloody NZRFU or Fox Sports Australia lol)

I mean what relevant qualifications does Bell actually have to even be appointed to the position of Warriors General Manager Of Football in the first place ?

Apart from being a Kiwi League great & his Wigan connections (and that didn't exactly work out all that great for the Warriors did it) ... Not many ... If any ... as far as I can tell

Doyle's been in the hot seat for less than half a season & he's already far surpassed anything that Bell (or anyone else for that matter) has ever done in terms of recruitment & from what Mt Wellyz has said he's also putting the hard word on everyone involved at the club to keep their future plans under wraps, this can only be a good thing imo

Just goes to show sometimes the old cliches ring true, as in not all great players necessarily make coaches or in Bell's case great administrators

IN JD WE TRUST :D
