Just heard over the radio Jim Doyle will step down from the position of CEO of the NZRL at the end of the year.
Will he be the new CEO of the NRL next year?

I thought he was brought in to implement the proposals put forward by Sir John Anderson in his damning report on the state of New Zealand Rugby League in 2009. It was after implementing alot of the proposals that NZRL was given $3 million of funding by SPARC which basically saved grassroots league.
By all accounts he did a great job and wish to thank him for his contribution to NZRL.
Former representative hockey player Phil Holden will take over as chief executive of the NZRL, replacing the outgoing Jim Doyle who is stepping down after three years in the job.
Holden played representative hockey for Southland, Otago, Wellington and Hawkes Bay and is also former chairman of the Auckland Diamonds netball franchise. He has established relationships in Wellington, notably Sport New Zealand, through his current role as Lion Foundation chief executive
I dont think Jim Doyle had any league experiance but he had plenty of sports admin. If Phil Holden does as good a job as Doyle did than league in NZ has a really bright futurehttps://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=10848995
No league background but sports admin experience

He has a definite understanding of grass roots league for sure IMO, our club put big grants through the lion foundation and they have always been great to deal with.https://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=10848995

Looks like Jim Doyle has made to the NRL after all, not quite as i'd wondered but still landing a great role in the scheme of things.
