JFC Team List: Promising juniors in line to return - warriors.kiwi

Two more of the One New Zealand Warriors’ most promising players are in line to return from injury lay-offs in the Jersey Flegg Cup (under-21) side’s round 12 match against Canterbury Bankstown at Navigation Homes Stadium on Sunday (11.00am kick-off).

Exciting second rower Dezman Laban – younger brother of NRL back rower Jacob Laban – has been selected for his first outing of the season after injury prevented him having any part in the SG Ball Cup (under-17) campaign.

He starred for the club’s premiership-winning Harold Matthews Cup (under-17) side last year.

Included on the extended bench for his first Jersey Flegg appearance of the year is impressive back rower Augustino Filipo. Named captain of the club’s 2025 SG Ball Cup side, his season was limited to three games by injury.

The Warriors now have successful Harold Matthews Cup coach TJ Ashford in charge after he guided the club to back-to-back premierships.

Coming off a bye, they're sitting 12th in the competition on eight points, just one point out of the top eight.

In their last outing they ran highly-touted Canberra Raiders close before losing 28-32 in Wollongong.

The Bulldogs are six points ahead in sixth place on 14 points coming off successive wins over the Roosters and the Eels.
