so what are everyones thoughts on jennings hit lastnight would you be happy if he doesn't get suspended . i remember back in the manly vs melbourne game in 2011 players got heavy suspensions for running in like he did. personally as a nsw fan i wouldn't be dissapointed if he got a heavy suspension

I thought the sin bin was a good decision and it's a rule that doesn't get used enough IMO. As for a suspension, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a rest for it - the judiciary would cop a heap of criticism if they let him off scot-free I reckon.

Yeah, completely agree.. How desperate do you have to be to punch someone in the head if you're running in from that far out and swinging before you even know who's doing what.. He was obviously watching too many Origin punch up clips on youtube before the game. What's worse is he punched the greatest man on the park, who wasn't even swinging any punches himself.

Shows how young in the head he is, cant expect too much from some of these hot heads. Is was a dog act for sure as it didn't take much for Slater to hold him back and he wasn't struggling much to break free to get back in the melee......poofter punch at its best.

Im sure he'll look back at the replay and be somewhat embarrassed about this. He looked like a fool.

Deserves suspension but not sure how long.

Can't believe some of the NSW media. You'd think they game was theirs by right and it was stolen from them by the refs.
The Jennings punch was absolutely moronic and he deserved what he got.
Farah kicked the ball out and Inglis scores, man they whinge a lot.

When they promote the matches as a kind of war and most of the highlights include legendary Origin fights, I don't see why they're surprised or shocked when this sort of thing happens. A bit off topic, but I'm over the way Origin seems to set aside the laws of the game - so many things happen that would see players penalised in normal matches it's not funny. Origin should be the showcase of the sport, not some sacred cow with its own rules.

NSW were obviously told to get emotional, he came at of nowhere throwing punches, Mitchell Pearce did the same thing and punched Thaiaday. I hate how they have different rules for Origin, like whats the point? If it makes the game better and more exciting using Origin rules then why not use those same rules in the NRL!

Not the impact a NSW cup player wanted to make on origin. Shows where his head space is and probably this sort of behaviour / attitude that lead Ivan to droping him.
If a player cops a suspension in an Origin game does it count for NRL ( or in this case NSW cup games) or is it for origin games only?

Yeah, letting crap like that go is one of the things I resent about Origin. If that was done by a Warrior in normal games, he'd have been sent off and suspended. Most of the play-the-balls would have resulted in penalties.

The judiciary are a Dr Seuss Kangaroo court....irrespective of the rules anything could happen.

Jennings was caught, the biggest wrought in sport if they don't act as they ought, their credibility would be naught , Queenslanders would be distraught, Jennings needs to sought how to punch with more thought.

Call me old school but i thought the binning was probably punishment enough. Loved the biffo. Although to maintain consistency he'll probably be suspended....hope not. Thought Jennings played well actually.

It was just a stupid decision. If he was involved in the initial niggle, then it wouldn't have been a big deal. But you can't run in with a Liu Kang style jump punch (especially on Turtle) and expect to get away with it. QLD scored while he was off the field...just a stupid play.

i thought a penalty was fine. its not like he hurt Tate. Ive seen thirdman do a lot more for far less punishment - he has yet to be binned for 10 in SOO. When did we change the rule that it only applies to NSW players?

Besides, majority of NRL fans woulda been jumping up for joy if the player he landed the punches on was Hodges. It all makes for a good spectacle. Penalty and report should suffice.

He was right to get sin binned. I say it all the time when it happens in games............you just can't do that.

I think Scott should have gone as well because without him throwing the ball at Bird like a big jessie, none of it would have happened.
