NRL NRL Round 1, 2024 Discussion

Thought I'd start up a thread as not long til round 1 kicks off this weekend. Bit weird having it over 2 weeks but guess it gives the teams going to US time to recover from the return flights.

Hoping Broncos and Manly win this weekend and that there's a good atmosphere at the stadium! Might be hard though with a lot of Americans probably not up with the rules of the game.

Wonder who's calling it for the American audience, be interesting to watch if we can get that feed somewhere. Touchdown! G'day mate!

Is there any word on how full the stadium may be?

My uncle lives in LA and rugby is a bit of a thing there, but I asked him about the league and said he hadn't heard a thing about it.

All just seems a bit weird.

Not full at all. Only approx 28k tickets sold in a 65k seat capacity stadium. NRL is hoping for a crowd of atleast 40k to call it a ‘success’. May take a few years of the NRL going there for the yanks to take much interest in it.
