James Gavet has been let go by the Bulldogs because of trouble with the Police. Sad really, hope he gets picked up by another club!

I hear he's been released but not for behavioural reasons - officially. Wouldn't mind seeing him back here, tbh.

Bring him back for what? So he can stay in the Vulcans again? The guy is nothing but trouble. Coming to training hungover on more than one occassion, fighting in bars and breaking his hand. I agree that he's a great prospect but the last thing I want is more bad press from the Union biased media. Maybe in a couple of years when he's grown up abit but for now I'd steer well clear of him. Think I'll stick with Mutts, Packer, Lillyman and Rapira thanks...

Yeah has discipline issues off field, so talented tho. He doesnt want to come back here. He has a couple of other clubs after him at the moment.

Dissapointed Gavet wasn't offered a contract here could see that raw potential absolute fierce ball carrier but I think Suaia Matagi will surprise a few people if given a chance in NRL he's machine like willing to do those little extras most props shirk so as dissapointed as I was when Gavet left I'm quite rapt we have Matagi coming through the ranks and developing alongside Jake,Mutts,Sammy Raps he will be a huge asset.

Is this not the same forum where people were suggesting Kevin Locke be drawn and quartered for a driving conviction? Why is this bloke seemingly being welcomed back with open arms after allegedly being sacked by a club for his run ins with the law?

Was he turning up hungover while at the Vulcans as well? I didn't hear anything like that when he was here but sounds like he got caught up in the fast life in Sydney.

His younger brother was in the Dogs 20s squad I think so I guess he'd want to stay. He has raw power that most players would kill for, dunno about the other stuff, perhaps he believes his own press and it's gone to his head.

Thats all it is, getting wrapped up in his own world. Theres no question he's super talented and a great prospect for the future but he needs to get his head straight first and fast or he'll just become another NRL what if?

His brother Kenny was at Parramatta development last season, but got let go because of fighting at school, and not turning up etc. Same as James, he has always been a good fighter, so doesnt mind getting into confrontations. Its a shame really!!! he'd be one to do really well in a fight for life, i'd back him!
