Will be interesting to see the aftermath of this. How many club's will survive? Will we find other more productive pastimes than league? Will we even give a shit about warriors next year? Will we rethink about the games we played this year and find covid-19 to blame for how they played? Will green and Blair play on next year and announce they "felt they were not doing justice to their decorated careers by finishing up with only 2 games in the season. Plus preseason training is fun now and await a further 5 year contract from warriors."
Things are going to change in the next 6-12 months. At the end of the day all that doesn't mean shit. Hope you all and your friends and families stay safe and healthy. Practice acts of kindness who are less fortunate. They will appreciate it. We are all far more fortunate than most of the people in the world. Appreciate that.

I have hope that maybe we may see some more games before the end of the season or the season extended - sad times everywhere. Stay safe everyone and hope to start bantering with you all again in the near(ish) future.

All sports across the world are struggling. The game will bounce and much stronger with Vlandys at the helm of the commission.
The government will help the impacted clubs and also the game. It is so important to the economy.
After the isolation period people may want to attend more games especially if the gsme positions it self accordingly and crowds increase.
Hopefully, we may see the back of stupid kick off times.

The way things were going it had to happen eventually. The different plans to keep going with ideas of moving everyone to an isolated area was basically pushing themselves into a corner until you are trapped with no other options.
For our guys stuck over their while their partners go into lockdown it wouldn't be easy. Every other family has someone lining up at the supermarket they are operating as a single parent family.
Hopefully the club survives this.

If you need evidence of the focus of this competition and the media. On NRL 360 Rothfield wants to know about the clubs, especially the struggling clubs in Sydney.
If the competition survives in the same or similar state next year hopefully the NRL throws the Warriors something for sticking it out. A prime round 1 game or at least a home game in round 1.

NRL will survive - but may never be the same, says V'landys
League officials had vowed to continue playing as the COVID-19 crisis deepened, but the closing of the Queensland border on Monday forced their hand.
The NRL will survive, but it might never be the same.
That was the message from ARL Commission chairman Peter V'landys and NRL chief executive Todd Greenberg after the NRL was forced to suspend its season after two rounds.
League officials had vowed to continue playing as the COVID-19 crisis deepened but the closing of the Queensland border on Monday forced their hand.
The NRL held a conference call with club chief executives at 5.45pm and made the news official just after 6pm on Monday. There will be no NRL matches played for the foreseeable future.
Due to the rapid rate of infection, we can no longer guarantee the safety of our players to continue to play," V'landys said. "Accordingly, we are suspending the season."
The suspension of the competition, which was one of the last in the world still running, follows that of the AFL, which announced on Sunday it was on hold until May 31.
The NRL had planned to play round three matches as late as Monday morning. Hours later, it was announced the competition would be indefinitely suspended.
"It is a deeply sad day but one of the most responsible days in our game's history," Greenberg said. "We would not have reached this point unless the conditions had shifted so dramatically and so exponentially.
"Today is a difficult day for the rugby league community, both here at head office and across all our clubs and players. Our priority is to do everything we can to give our game the best chance for a long and sustainable future. We have briefed all of our clubs this evening and all of our players have now been told."
V'landys was not sure what state the competition would return in.
"Rugby league will survive in some way. I can't guarantee it will be in the same way it is at the moment. No one knows. No one knows how long this pandemic is going to last," he said.
"We're ready for the worst and we are going to look at dealing with the worst. That's exactly what we will do in the next couple of weeks."
NRL teams had played behind closed doors in the second round of the season and the administration explored radical alternatives, such as shifting the entire competition to a remote town in Queensland, in an effort for it to continue and for the broadcast rights revenue to keep rolling in.
For now, V'landys isn't clear as to whether that will roll in again, as games will not be played on April 1, when the next dose of quarterly revenue which keeps the game afloat was due to arrive.
"We have been in dialogue with our broadcast partners. They've been great to date," he said. "It isn't as bad as what we could expect but until we sit down it's too premature to stay exactly what will happen."
V'landys maintained the clubs faced a "catastrophic" few months as the game tries to keep its head above water without the latest quarterly payment of the $1.8 billion, five-year television deal.
"It's catastrophic. I don't think we've ever come across a financial crisis like this. We're all affected, as Todd pointed out," V'landys said. "We've led by example by cutting our expenditure immediately and we are hoping the clubs will do the same very quickly.
"We will sit down with the clubs over the next week to look at how they're affected. This is a financial crisis. You can't understate it. It's probably the biggest financial crisis the game will ever face in its history.
"But, co-operatively and united, we will deal with it and hopefully we will come out the other end."
And while V'landys said the game would do its best to keep all clubs viable, there is no guarantee they will all survive while games aren't played.
"We will do our best to keep all our clubs viable," he said.
"As I said at our Sunday press conference, we're a family. We're a rugby league family. And when one needs help, we will support them. We will do everything in our power to ensure every single one of our clubs remains viable and exists.
"We have some pretty tough decisions to make in the next few weeks but the main objective is to keep everyone within our game viable."
The news that the competition was being put on hold came on another eventful day at League Central in which almost all staff were told to take annual leave until May 1.

One would think that if Autex can stay afloat, and it has weathered some decent storms as a company, that the club will actually be in a better position than some Sydney clubs that are financial basket cases only kept in the game because of the power brokers in Sydney.

It was hyped as a great thing for rugby league last year when V'landys came on board. That was more for him to negotiate the new TV deal as he had contacts and done well in his previous role.
