Certainly under pressure but gotta take your hat off to him. Aint muckin around. And aint afraid to promote juniors.
If things dont pan out this season, then his player-base, hopefully will be widened for next season.

agreed...atleast he is trying something...remember how many people kemp promoted to the squad when our season was finished?

good on him...i dont care that much if we lose some games here and there this season...he is building for the future. im all for it.

he has shown that he is flexible and is not scared to drop players who are up there on rep.
he trained all of season with sione at 5/8..knowing it wasnt working he went against himself and tried something different. thats very hard to do when you front media all offseason saying sione would be 5/8. also dropping byrne and toopi...who woulda thought after byrnes performances last season!

and now promoting juniors as he knows that he has to build for next season where our players will be more hardened.

we may not be getting the results right now, but we do have the right person in the coaches box.

onya ivan!

Good point we're all happy and were not even saying thanks. We have to remember this is his 1st year, & so far he's handling himself like a pro. I expected changes but not this quick. He's a fair coach, he'll give ya a chance but not forever. And most of all not afraid to admit he made a mistake. Sure it took a while to change fien but they trained all off season in those posisions, so he didn't want to waste all that training.
Very good start Ivan.

a good start but ulitmately results are what count. he does deserve 2 years for sure but with the roster he has available I hope we don't end up second last.

not all player clashes are bad....

id love for kemp to tell toopi to get the f*** out after the years over.

Ivan for mine has got one massive task to see to. Get his charges out of the habit of doing that stupid 'goose-step". "specially the forwards. Get the ball and charge straight ahead at a gap or a player. Thankfully the worst of them aint there anymore.

I think Ivan is moving in the right direction.

It looks like we have found our new wings, and centres. Hell, even if some don't rate Martin ..he is doing better and better every week and his goal kicking is not bad at all.

In the halves I would like to see Webby get a go eventually at 6, moving Misi to fullback and Ah Van back onto the wing.

Rapira gets his go this week and if he performs well we might see him keep his spot.

Apart from that I am happy.

Keep Awen for another year as we phase in Sonny Fai. Tuakura while I think he deserves a shot, is too old and we need a player of the future like Rapira. Don't resign Toopi. Keep Webb, hopefully he will play 6. Ravs and Webby in the halves could be lethal.

Yep I'd have to agree with everyone that's for sure. Its not an easy job coaching the Warriros obviously, but he's doing all right for mind. Unltimately results are what you want, but if you don't get those, don't give up your day job (aka. Brian Smith) and keep at it. Don't be afraid of change even if you're wrong. People look up to you more when you admit you made a mistake but you're willing to do something a bit different.

Ivan seems to know what he is doing and he is looking at rookies for the future.you can have a game plan but will the players follow it, he has to be a bit more ruthless with those who have brain failures on the field.

The fact that Ivan is prepared to make changes is one of the things that impresses me most about his coaching.

We might not be doing that well on the field but it is not Ivan that is dropping the ball or missing tackles.

yeh for sure. beginning of the season he said deadset fien and sione are gonna be in the halves for the season. obviously it wasnt working so clearly did something about it. good thing he is promoting the juniors. cant wait to see fai and vuna get a run.

one thing i wanna see cleary handle. and that is lance hohaia... what gonna happen when he comesback from injury?

while i sometimes disagree with the odd decision ivan makes , i have nothing but respect for the guys tenacity and resolve.

he,s doing it the wayhe knows best and i think hes the type of person who will live/die by his results.

with the bloody dogs breakfast he walked into at the start of the year, i think hes done pretty damned well.

O my god have I got the right website?

Fans agreeing with the coaching selections?
Fans actually saying that the coach is doing ok?
Fans not calling for the coaches head because we arn't winning games?

Way to go guys, me thinks we may have finally found the true messiah of coaching for the Warriors.

Someone who isn't afraid to act and actually goes out and does things and tells us about it !

WARNING

I have taken down all your names and will remind you if yiou bay for his blood at the end of the season, afterall you all agree that he is building for the future and needs time to actually put in into practise.

Ivan's score so far 7/10, Room for improvement but heading the right way.

Good on yah Ivan !
