That's a great effort Dixpat.Today we completed the walk.
Just like the Warriors we under promised but over delivered as by the time we arrived at the City Mission we had actually walked 18.09kms.
The weather was favourable starting out coolish but warming as the morning wore on.
We stopped for a coffee break after around 8kms and then had our next stop after 16kms at the Devonport wharf as we waited around 20 minutes for the ferry - a pity that we can’t walk on water. The distance in the ferry is in addition to the 18kms walked.
For those that want proof I include screenshots from Map My Walk.
The Mission has raised $117,310 through this fundraising and I’m grateful to say that Warriors fans have contributed $3,789 of that.
In addition we raised a further $3,099 through family, friends and acquaintances so the total my wife and I, with the support of a large number of people, added to the pot was $6,888.
We, the Mission and no doubt the homeless who will benefit from your generosity are truly grateful.
Nga mihi
