General Homelessness in Auckland

Used to work at Kingseat.

It needed to go, although it had improved massively by my time. But they needed to build modern hospitals staffed by the progressive people who work in services post the closure of the institutions.

Had to come to Auckland central to come close up with hardcore homeless people, older survivors who had been on the streets ten years and more in the big city, out South homeless tended to be sniffers.

The whole thing has changed, now heaps of families are homeless as everyone knows, you dont have to have an addiction or an illness to be on the streets now.

We need bigger forensic services too, most people would be horrified to know the number of time bombs out there that have been assessed as likely to kill someone that have a plan that says in professional waffle that we will treat them after they do the deed.

My wife used to have to go there and pick up bloods as a phlebotomist. She said they would keep the worst locked around the back and they would be seen masturbating and rooting each other. She said sometimes you’d think staff were patients to look at them.

Sounds Iike the Warriors most years, kept them off the streets though, lets face it the last thing you want is Bodene Thompson running around loose in the community.

I think Dr. Savage was before your time Sup...am I correct? A farking nutter if ever there was.
I was talking to a dude once who had been examined by a psychiatrist from Oakley. The dude said to me he felt insulted that the guy was checking his sanity when he himself seemed a real fruit cake.
Very sad.
Psychiatric illness is no different to a chronic hip...is it?

The screenshot above is the "Leaderboard" for funds raised by individuals

I'm sure that collectively we can top the table just like the Warriors will in 2023!

If every forumer who hasn't already committed dug into their pocket and came up with $10 we would blow the others out of the water - but more importantly we would make a difference!.

Are you up for the challenge?

Very quite last couple of weeks as most have found their short arms aren’t reaching the bottom of their deep pockets!

Are there any forumers willing to pledge

$1 for every point the team score against the Knights, or
$10 if we win in R1, or
$2 for every penalty we are awarded in R1

I'll go with $1 for every point we score vs Knights and I'll top it up with +$20 if we win.
