General Hohaia out with surgery

Don't know if this has been posted but Lance has ruled himself out of the Anzac clash and is undergoing minor knee surgery.

Although most of us knew he probably wouldn't have been picked, this confirms it.

He thinks he will be out for two weeks.

Don't know if it had been posted, sorry if its a repost.

Has a two page spread on Lance, I remember how well he went at hooker and he was going to be our 7 if Stacey didnt play.

Hope he gets his shot at 7 for the warriors this year. I dont care that he has an ego, as long as he gives his all on the field.

Hes got all the skills to be a 7 and has been groomed for it

You can say all that but the end story is he's not beng picked so forget it until he is.

Thanks WA but the more important thing was what the Mad Butcher had to say about him and his effort to get back on the park. Doesn't appear to me from that he has an over inflated ego or an attitude problem. When he first made the Warriors he had the reputation of being cocky and a smartarse just the thing you need in a confident young player and it showed. Bloody good I say - you can manage that but you can't make a better footballer out of a diligent yessir nosirr player without the skills and ability. Some guys running around out there have had their chances to grow and improve week in and week out - pity about the results!!!

u blame the guy for having an "ego".

he has been treated like a reject. for someone who had an awesome 2005 season and kiwi tour i would be frustrated as if i was demoted to b/c. he knows he has talent. he knows and we all know he has more talent than the current no 7 and no 9 of the warriors.

Bitching and Crying like a little girl and getting his Dad to threaten that he will leave the Warriors isn't really an ego. It's just sook sydrome.

He was told his role at the Warriors would be in the #9 jersey. He had the oppurtunity to make the most of it, but his attitude got in the way.

That is why he is being treated like a reject, and until he pulls his head out he should continue to be treated this way.

If you dont think he has an ego you need to redad the 2 page spread of utter bull dust he waffled on about in the Sunday news. He thinks that he has more talent in his little finger than Stacey has ever had. Demanded that he hould be the No 7 and Stacey be his sub.

as I have said time and time again ..... EGO

Yes I like ambition, however when ego gets in the way of ambition then you have a problem.

this coming for www.stuff.co.nz

Hohaia, 23, admitted that he hadn't been at his best so far this year, with his form being below what he and coach Ivan Cleary wanted.

"Ivan and myself have high expectations for me and the way I should be playing," he said.

"I've obviously not hit my straps yet, but I'm sure that's not far away."

yep that sounds like an ego getting out of control...

Some of you's have bad memories. Go back to 02, 03, and see how well Lance went in place of Jones. It wouldnt take much to re-capture that form.
The quicker Ivan slots Lance into 7, the better. To have any chance of making the play-offs, that has got to happen.

9......Fien
7......Hohaia
6......Rovelli

Play-offs .....06

yeah ego...im thinking hohia should go at the end of season. the coach wants him to play hooker, i personally saw him as an excellent hooker last year but if he isnt going to settle in to his postion and play is role in the team why have him? when craig wing was shifted to hooker after winning a premiership at halfback do u think he sooked. NO...he got on with the wishes of his coach and he has made an excellent hooker. with everyone calling him to play halfback its only messing his head more and he is never going to settle. if he wants to play halfback then he can go to souths...

The only person messing with Lance's head are the coaches he's had.
He has more vision than Fein, has a deft chip-kick, an awesome cut-out pass, and the list goes on.
On the other hand what sort of a kicking game has Fein got. His percentages are way down, hasnt' had a 40/20 to date[??] and runs across field to much. For mine, it would be worth giving Lance the 7 jersey.

As I have said before and I'll say it again, Hohaia has merely stated his preference. His Dad may, in some peoples eyes, have spat the dummy, but in the same article Hohaia reiterated that if Ivan wants him at 9 that's where he will play. Ivan also said he wants Hohaia back to his best as quickly as possible.

His Dad is his manager and as a manager he was probably only doing what he thought best for the player. The other point is that he is privvy to more information about Hohaia's contract than any of us so we can only surmise as to the real reason behind his outburst.

Now, whether going public was wise only time will tell. I remember Hughie McGahan saying that having relatives as Managers isn't a good idea - far too much emotion attaching in his opinion. He may well be right!

Finally, all Hohaia wants is to play football for the Warriors and honour his commitment to the Club. This guy has had more written about him this year that any other player - the pressure must be enormous!

Ok ok give him the freakin No 7 then. And when he cocks up then be prepared to take it , cause as John Cena would say" you want some .come get some !"

And if , yes I said IF he proves me wrong then great, maybe we can get on with the business of winning. And I will be one of those claiming it was my idea (haha just joshin)

However , I don't usually see a half empty glass, but on this ocassion I think Hi Ho is half empty. Lol

i wouldnt give hohia the 7...you go on he has more vision and praise him. when has hohia even played at 7. i can recall 2 games last year. meanwhile fien is experienced. for me hohia will be way to incosistent...and a 7 has to be solid every game. and you all want to groom him into a halfback. then again your are looking in the wrong direction. Im afraid rovelli has accomplished alot more and he should be given the 7 ahead of hohia. at least rovelli can make the team!
