They have these guys signed to the club and waiting to come up and play !

Here is your Warriors Rookie wrap

Constantine Mika - This guy is dam scary for a 16 year old. currently playing finals football at center for Tamaki Leopards in the Bartercard cup. He is a terrific up and comer. Size wise he is what you would call Strapping and looks Identical in looks and style to Joe GALUVAO . I expect big things from this 16 year old kid. He's a hair bear and has got many big wraps, will probably end up a second rower because of his size. Watch him this monday night on Maori tv in the Semi-final. Dam glad we have got him signed.

Cooper Vuna - Total package as a player. Really glad the warriors resigned him and the bulldogs didnt pick him up. I was really disapointed the Warriors didnt play him in the last game and instead choose Todd Byrne. For my mind he is a real player of the future and there is a lot to like about him. He has everything ! Speed, Size, Athleticism. I hope he picks up a spot with the warriors 17 next year.

Lesson Ah Mau - Another 16 year who has so much of a future ahead of him. His size looks decieving. He looks like he has low gravity to the ground and has a lean look about him. But put this second rower next to George Tuakura and they look size wise very simular. Almost never gets tackled first up and often skips the second tackle as well. He's a tank and another I could see becoming a shining light as a tower of strength ball runner. Reminds me of Willie poaching to look at and plays a bit like Adrian Morley in his running style.

Sonny Fai - Has all the talent to be the Warriors Sonny Bill Williams. My only problem with him is he can go very quiet in games and shrug the workload. Ball in hand and in the right mood he can be highly destructive. A possible superstar. Will he or wont he ? The most talked about junior in NZ.

Roman Hifo - Another big talented second rower. But with all the other powerhouse forwards coming through I dont think he will get his break with the Warriors. A workhorse with some dynamic ability. Definetly rolls his sleeve up and does the dirty work. Has great enthusism. Just dont see him offering enough dynamic ability. But I would pick him over Wairangi Koopu.

Eddie Purcell - Yet another talented center/ second Rower. He is a very strong and direct runner that can also hit a hole. From my recolection is still only 16 or 17 years old. Knows his running lines already. Looks to have a strong NRL future. Can he crack the heavy number of up and coming forwards at the warriors?

Miguel Start - Brilliant dynamic centre. This kid can play for sure. A real gem and has cemented a centre spot for the Auckland lions. Constant line breaking and try scoring threat. Has the best swirve and acceleration ive seen from a Kiwi center in a long time. Steps off both feet and reminds me of Willie tonga with his acceleration. Hot prospect indeed!!!

Malo Solomona - Talk about a young dangerous Nigel Vagana look alike. He plays exactly like him to boot ! He has been training closely with the Warriors top squad. Heavily rated, get this kid in space and you need a rocket fuelled jet pack to catch him. Yet another star to be. It actually suprises me when you think that the warriors have so many dynamic youngsters coming up the ranks and yet they signed aussies youngsters from NRL clubs. Hopefully its all in good reason !

Wade Mcdade
- Not exactly a rookie, He's been around awhile. Has been sugested by some he will replace Guttenbeil. Plays simple and in my oppinon non dynamic football. I dont see him as the answer but he may get the call up. Simular to Nathan Cayless but not in the same class.

Dean Shepard - An electric live wire hooker. Theres not much of him, but Dam can he play !! Catches a lot of markers out with his speed and agility. Has a huge heart and kind of gives that preston Campbell element of suprise. Good good talent

Scotty Jones - Plays second row or No 6. Has talent and size and a fair bit of Moungrel about him. kind of a cross between Louie Anderson and Tyran Smith when he was dangerous. Has good potential but once again stuck amoungst a huge amount of up and coming young forwards. Another with undoubted ability, and in his favour he rolls his sleeves up and fights out a game ....... Not literaly though !

Russel Packer - Remember that huge young talented prop from Paramatta Adam Ritson. This kid is his double. I swear, im not the only one to say it. Brilliant news when the Warriors signed him. Got to say he is going to go a long long way. Deserves every accolade and every big wrap he gets. Superstar prop in the making.

Paroa Packer - A lot was said about the double signing of paroa and his younger brother Russel by the Warriors. Russel is simply brilliant. Im not sure of Paroa at all. His brother for my mind is the star. Paoroa definetly has a strong work ethic and desire to play? But I couldnt and wouldnt compare him to some of the youngsters coming up for the Warriors. He may prove me wrong though, but I cant see him becoming a star. May change as a player though under Ackland and cleary.

Kevin Locke - What a talent of a fullback this kid is !! , He can single handly change a league game with his amazing raw talent just like Christain Cullen the great All black full back could. A bolter for the junior Kiwis.......... He is a future Warriors and possibly Kiwis Full back. Great Great signing by the Warriors.

Strider - How many of these guys train with the Warriors on a regular basis ?

All these guys are in the elite evelopment squad membersand have regular training and access to the warriors coaching staff. They all do intense training with the warriors, so there skills arnt to far off the required set needed for NRL standard.

A couple of these kids are going to be reals stars.

Someone like Russel Packer will move up to Auckland at the end of this year to be placed with the Warriors camp. Its all totaly positive. Of course certain players will train more intensly with the squad such as Sonny Fai, Cooper Vuna etc.

But most players get real good focus placed on them.

I am especially waiting for our boy Mannering to move into the backrow to make way for Start. Should be interesting. Can't wait for Fai and Packer either.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If Start and Mannering are both competing for a spot, it'll improve the form of both players.

I am looking forward to see Migual Start and R Packer in a warriors jersey the most. Start is the x-factor in the back line that we are waiting for. And Packer is our very own home made Steve Price.

but i have to say...Sonny Fai has been very dissapointing this year and i hope people don't have too much expectation of this kid to be sonny bill when/if he makes his debut.

Apart from Vuna and Fai, which players are ready or likely to make the step up to first grade next year?

I read in rugby league week this week that Steve Price had three youngters to watch out for next year. They were:

Constaine Mika
Miguel Start
Malo Solomona

So Steve Price should no best lol :) , so i would think we will see a bit of those three players next year.

Ill bet anyone here $1000 warriors dollars that not one of those players will get a run next year.

I don't think they even have to get on the field. He said we won't see them, not that we won't see them play. ;)

Malo Solomona and Miguel Start will indeed will be on the money to making their 1st grade debuts in 07. Not too certain about Constantine Mika though, He looks a little raw. But than again it Steve Price who mentioned them, must be a good sign huh?

Does that include public appearances? Could make it difficult if they turn up to practice... :D
