General HEAD COACHING RULE?

Is there some NRL rule that prohibits the head coach from being down on the sidelines with his players? I noticed Cleary using a walkie talkie to communicate with the players from behind a glass partition in the stands. If there`s no rule stating he must be off field, I think it would definitely benefit the team to have Cleary down there on the field with them.

I don't think there is a rule because Ricky Stuart from the Roosters usually does it and I have seen other NRL coaches do the same. Maybe Cleary just thinks he is able to do better with the benefit of replays and a cool room to think.

Yeah like in the first SOO last year and the Blues scored to put them ahead 20-19 Ricky Stuart was doing his Elvis impression.

and plus if cleary was on the sideline i think he'd be coppin a fair bit of abuse about how to run his team and he'd be coppin rubbish and shit thrown at him. id be yellin sh*t at him anyway, never wanted him as coach

Think that they stay up their so when the players are going bad and the coaches are swearing their heads off the players don't see it. It would make thins worse. Plus don't want anymore Brown incidents. LOL

I'd prefer to be up above - I think you get a better overall top down view of proceedings. Being at ground level your view can be a bit restricted.
