General Guilty pleasures...

Michael Hancock for mine. He may have been a bit too successful to be considered in the same league as some of the players mentioned here. But he was definitely hated, especially in Sydney.

Seemed to be personally insulted if someone dared tackle him. Used to hump the ground and kick out in the tackle (often kicking someone in the head). Used to break out of a tackle, then seemingly run back to bust out of it again. Crowds hated him, i thought he was great.

I'm sorry Jon. Nothing cryptic or confusing in that comment, or intended at least. Was just commenting that i tend to remember he had that special game where he ripped it up and looked like a big angry man possessed in that 31 all game against the Roosters last year, thus meaning that you've already had that special game from him haven't you?

Was that my point? Who knows? Meh...

I thought that was the Tigers game...?

The Wade sin bin game @ Campbeltown? He almost killed Gibbs in a tackle I think but. his most dominant display in my opinion (which is the one that always matters) was against the Roosters. He was just hungry, angry and any other -gry superlatives you care to casy his way.

I know man, I do remember one game that I thought was his turning point when he did rip some stuff up... The turning point for my mind was one hit up off a kick off when he just ran straight and actually got smashed. That was the moment I thought had turned him into a Warrior.
But it hasn't, I still think there is more, a lot more possible from Lauaki.

Which match was it this year that he started in and absolutely killed? It was a home match. Bulldogs, perhaps? (I'm assuming it was one we actually won, lol.)

OMG, one of the worst reffing decisions i've seen.

Literally sent off for doing nothing!

Wade's reaction in ripping off of the shower heads in the locker rooms is one of the funniest things I've seen though. Mind you the guy had been nipping away at the ref all game. Far out I miss his passion and anger. We kNEED him back.

Shane Endacott and, to a lesser degree, Ali Lauiti'iti - worked with both their wives. Truly lovely ladies they were, and Shane was a decent sort on the few occasions I met him.

And the other would be Logan Swann, which goes back to playing together for the Warriors.

LOL we do indeed.

I never actually saw that footage re: the shower heads but it was hilarious when I heard it mentioned on here.

I have often had soft spots for various players - my favourite Warrior was Monty Betham. He gave his all for the team and his team mates, despite not being highly skilled. I loved his demeanour on the football field (you don't mess with Monty) and his accessabilty (to fans) off it. He has since shown talent in other fields.

Mark Bournville. When he burst onto the scene back in the 80s for Mt Albert he was a raw winger and ran like a Horse, hence his nickname. He went onto play for the Kiwis and France, became a boxing sensation and now a TV superstar on Piha Rescue.

I'm not sure about Bourneville being a guilty pleasure. The guy played in 13 grand finals, and he won 11 of them.

I was actually a big Rovelli fan when he burst onto the scene in 2006, thought he would be the next Stace and be our starting halfback until his early 30s. Pity.

Me too, w4l. I have to confess to being really excited when we extended his contract early on. How wrong I was!
