My advice is not to have too much in your head when you play, just keep your swing smooth, do not try and hit it hard. Always remember that putting and chipping are the keys to a good score.I've some friends who are trying to get me into it. Only played a few games. I find, once or twice a round, I'll do a good shot off the tee or fairway and it's enough to make me think I'll do it again. Had one lesson so far..... only to find out pretty much everything I was doing was wrong.
Find a good teaching pro. Stick with him for at least 15 lessonsI've some friends who are trying to get me into it. Only played a few games. Exact same reason why men love fishing. Its always that one time you got that big one that always lives in your head and makes up for the bad times.I've some friends who are trying to get me into it. As bruce says get a coach. Once a week. Driving range in between honing that lesson. Makes a massive difference to your game and enjoyment.
Start thinking now of how you will explain to the missus that getting a $3k customised set is essential to your health and wellbeing...

Why? Time and distance
I used to live close to two driving ranges and three very good courses.
So at least twice a week I could get to the range, and before every game I could have a decent warmup.
Then I moved to another part of Auckland.
The nearest driving ranges are the two I left behind.
The club I joined I soon found out why it was easy to join. The course is for mountain goats and the facilities are meh.
There is a top flight course very close to home, but no driving range and there is a waiting list for members.
So I just lost interest because I don't have that amount of free time to waste driving to a decent course and facilities.

There's a reason we don't have any driving ranges here in South Auckland.... in case a bro retrieving the balls gets annoyed at the golfers and starts firing a few of them back at them.Driving ranges are the best. Especially the ones with a moving target (caged cart that goes around collecting all the balls).
The one by the airport was great until the crack heads started going there cause it was open 24 hours...There's a reason we don't have any driving ranges here in South Auckland.... in case a bro retrieving the balls gets annoyed at the golfers and starts firing a few of them back at them.

Sound like a sheep may have scored…They were really concerned as the sheep was staggering around. Then another sheep started humping it. No good scores in that group that day.
