Radio sport has reported that Locke has failed a fitness test today, so it looks like Fish gets the nod at fullback.
I hope he pulls out a big one.

I understand, and accept, that there is a lot of hate for Fisiiahi at the moment. But I'm sure we all know that he's better than what he dished up in his past few appearances. I've seen enough from him in the Vulcans that I know he's not actually lazy/doesn't care about defense; he pulls off some great cover tackles. I'm not sure what was up with him the past few games, but I think he became a bit of a scapegoat. I'm going to back him to show us all what he's capable of, he'll know it's his last chance.

All that said I'm still firmly in Locke's "corner", he's definitely the better fullback, but I'd like Fisiiahi to do well also.

Agreed.
This should be a relatively open game that will suit his style.
I'm hoping he brings his A-Game

I have no hate for Fish at all, i dont think he's suited to fullback is all....I've always though he'd make a great center, and still do.

It's an interesting thought. I think I'd like to see him play there for a bit first before judging him. Do you think we would be able to make use of his broken play running and support play from centre?

Fish has hardly had a clean shot at FB and like Spence I'm not going to write a guy off because of a couple of mistakes in a minimum number of games. Afterall a Warriors win is the whole point, hoping a player goes poorly so you can say I told you so strikes me as odd.

I just hope he pushes the boys around in defence from the back. He needs to be vocal and keep the troops moving, he can't shy away

Im a big supporter of the Fish, granted he didnt play that well last time he was in first grade, but then again our whole team was playing like crap. Our forwards were getting dominated, we made too many mistakes etc even Locke would of had a hard time impressing in those games. I think if we bring our A game like we did vs Brisbane/Storm etc I think he will fit right in and be the kind of player we all know he's capable of being. Hat trick for the Fish!

Im willing to give Fish the benefit of the doubt, like most have said our team was playing like crap last time so his form got a little caught up in that. Definitely need to give him another shot. Yeah i think as fans we want all our players to be successful so im going to go against my usual judgment of his play and give him some real support this friday as a supporter. Anyone going to the game? Sydneysiders where u at?

If fish gets the nod I really hope he has a big game. Like others have said will be a lot different playing behind a pack that is going forward . The whole team needs to turn up again for this to happen.

No issues with Fish there to be honest if Locke is out, its nice to have a player of his calibre to call on. Granted he was not great at all last time he played but lets all hope he has a big game this weekend, with how bad Ropati looked before he got injured last week I'm just glad he is no longer in the side and keeping out the young bucks who actually have some upside and ability to break open a game aka Hurrell and Fish......

It would be a lot easier for him to float a little more playing center than it would be on the wing, getting him closer to our off-loading talent (Mateo etc).
I think the wing is probably the most static position in terms of positioning, i mean the winger is always expected to be on the wing... and i agree that Fish
would certainly need plenty of game time at center for the Vulcans before even thinking about first grade.
He is being wasted, why not have an Inglis type center playing first grade, that can cover fullback when needed, rather than having Fish stuck
in reserves playing fullback, which doesn't suit him...in my opinion of course.

It's not the mistakes, it's his effort that is poor.

Ok and who's position at centre is he going to take? This season or especially next????

While I'm not sure of Fish at centre. I totally agree that if the club doesn't see him having a long-term future at fullback, he should be playing in other positions in the Vulcans. I'm not even sure who the club see as the next winger in line after Inu..Slimey?

Good Luck Fish, team is on a high - back in the top 8 great opportunity to show what you can do. Glad to see Sammy back and interesting to see Taia dropped as many have asked for. Hope Sione will step up his game to retain his spot now.

its penehe isnt it? wasnt he on the team sheets at the start of the year during the trials?
glad theyre giving fish another go.

this weekend will be another test for our forwards. i havent been following the tigers at all this year but they were fielding a big pack last year and theyve added blair to that.

In the perfect world you need a couple of specialists in all positions, therefore for me at the moment Fish is the next specialist FB and needs to be playing that in the Vulcans. Already this year we have had several guys play there, each change has happened because of injury whether it's a guy going out or coming back in. So for me it seems FB in the Vulcans is Fish's best position if he's not in first grade. I see no point of playing a FB at centre or a winger at prop, if your going to do that why not just do a lucky dip before the game the number you draw out of the hat is where you play.
