Apparently he will be responsible for washing the team uniforms after each match, and general boot cleaner.

I think he is really there as backup for Fien/Hi-ho. If Fien gets injured, Hohaia will no doubt go to halfback and Gatis to hooker. If Hohaia gets injured it'll be a straight swap I imagine.

What kind of comment is that? Dude, it's more likely you'll be doing that sort of stuff than one of our players..

Goerge Gatis proved alot of fans and critics wrong yesterday, from yesterday's performance he proved he has what it takes to be a fulltime hooker for the Warriors, he gave us more then fish and chips yesterday, he gave us a great performance, thats GOLD. 8)

Awesome performance. Basics were done right; passes were crisp, accurate, and he knew when to run, and he certainly stings in defence.

Another Death/Mears signing in my opinion, bargain buy proven professional. He was the consummate pro at North Queensland too, always doing the basics right, and when the game required, such as v the Warriors round 26 2001 capable of busting the game wide apart.

He was awsome, PLEASE don't drop him. Lance can play half or get stuffed.

I saw him make two mistakes in the whole game lastnight so in my humble opinion he was awesome!

Reminded me of Steve Walters a little to be honest last night, clean passes, good leg drive in tackles and solid on defence.

Yes he was good but the Tigers were shite.

We haven't seen much of him at all... few more weeks yet.

Debateable dude very debateable....i think you'll find the top 5 ESL clubs could cut it with most NRL sides. So your statements are a little too sweeping.
However i agree with what Robster says in that an NRL side is an NRL and he still played really well aginst the current champions.

Met George after the game. He is so humble. To think he works in a chippy parttime. Needs to be Fulltime. A real nice guy who is over his (Awen) period ! (Injuries that hamper game time).
A very good buy for the club and he seems so happy to be playing.

Lets use him as first drop and revelle as 2nd. Hohia Who ?

He had a great first game, looked sharp and could read the game well. Sometimes sitting out alot of games and actually having to watch them week in and week out can help you understand and execute better plays.

One thing though, hows his kicking game? I hope he can take pressure off webby and fein. (ie dont let jerome kick)

Thought that George Gatis was excellent.

I got the chance to meet George before the game and one of the things that really impressed me was his enthusiasm.

He was clearly looking forward to playing for the Warriors and he even wanted photos so that he could remember his first appearance.

If all our players are as keen to be there as George we could really get on a roll.

Now we have to sweat it out until tuesday cause were gonna need "Georgie Boy" on the team to have a chance in hell against "Joey Boy".

What about Ropo "A good line of Aussie hookers like Mears and stuff..."

Jeepers, has he forgotten Death and Marsh already?

I had a better commentry at the game. A big black guy stoned off his face yelling go tackler for the firat half (no matter who had the ball)then go tigers for most of the second then some sort of mumble after that.... better than Costigan, take him anyday.

Gatis had a great game, I was very impressed with how well he slotted into the team.
I figured he would have to wait longer to get a run as a replacement for Hohaia/Fien pending injury. But it seems to have been somewhat of a master stroke from Cleary to shove him straight into the run-on side ahead of Hiho.
It'll be very interesting to see what role Hohaia will play now that Gatis has put his hand up. Some very healthy competition indeed!
I hope Hohaia dosn't get put off by Cleary's decision and ask for an early release from his contract though - he has a lot to offer the club and we still need him in the squad.

As Mo states a real nice guy. I was asked to supply the photos of his first game which I will be uploading this week when I have time.

Some real good ones. He has seen them and wants copies. No there is pride and passion. Wants to remember his first grade debut for the warriors.
