Little Write up by Zerotackle. Personally I don't see any of those guys making their way to the club but do agree a strong outside back is what we need.
What a strange article. “It’s clear the Warriors are short a Prop” so they should just grab Val Holmes, Adam Reynolds (cause one aging half isn’t enough) or Alex Johnston……it’s great to have fresh Warriors articles to read again but even so - I stopped reading after those suggestions.

I’m not familiar with his journalism, but that interview excited me. He seems like he has some great ideas around fan engagement and I’m looking forwarding to seeing what he brings.

I'm not sure what thread to post this question on, but does anyone remember when/where the "It's our year" catchphrase originated? I think it's always been part of Wah culture for as long as I can remember (~2006 ish)?

Not sure if this is the right place for this but really sad to hear about Dai Henwoods current health situation. I know he’s a big warriors supporter and hope he can find abit of joy in the team this year like we all wish. A playoff run would be nice.
Was shattered to hear this too whanau, love that little feller like a brother for all the times he was the lone Warriors fan standing up for us against a sea of mockery and ridicule. Devastating news. Stay strong Dai.

A family member close to me has also has bowel cancer, at about the same age as well.

Get checked if you have any symptom fellas.

I'm getting checked sometime this year (depending on health system availability). I don't think I have it yet, but doctors want me to be checked every 18-24 months from now on.

It runs on both sides of my family, and they expect me to get it within 5-10 years (I'm slightly younger than Dai).

My father waited too long to get checked, and wasn't strong enough afterwards to recover from the treatment/surgery. If you have symptoms or a family history of it, please talk to your doctor.

Wasn't sure what the symptoms were so I checked. Please read guys...

Bowel cancer symptoms

Being aware of the symptoms is the first step you can take to prevent bowel cancer. Symptoms may come and go so don’t wait if you have any of these concerns, no matter what age you are.
Symptoms may include:
  • Bleeding from the bottom (rectal bleeding)
  • Change of bowel motions/habits that come and go over several weeks
  • Anaemia
  • Severe persistent or periodic abdominal pain
  • A lump or mass in the abdomen
  • Tiredness and loss of weight for no obvious reason
If you have any of these symptoms, or you are concerned about your bowel health, see your GP right away.

Statistics of bowel cancer rates in New Zealand

  • Bowel cancer is the second highest cause of cancer death in New Zealand, second only to lung cancer
  • The incidence of bowel cancer in New Zealand is one of the highest in the world
  • Over 3,000 New Zealanders are diagnosed with bowel cancer every year
  • More than 1,200 die from bowel cancer each year
  • Over 350 people under 50 are diagnosed with bowel cancer each year
  • It is estimated that one in every 18 New Zealanders will develop bowel cancer in their lifetime
  • Men are at increased risk of bowel cancer than women. The most recent NZ data shows men 44.8 per 100,000 with females 35.2 per 100,000

Important – While bowel cancer is more common in the 50 years + age group, it affects people of all ages. If you did see your GP about bowel symptoms and were told, ‘You are too young to have bowel cancer’, do not accept this as an explanation. Seek a second opinion from another doctor, or ask your GP to refer you to a specialist for further investigation..

Remember – if you are still concerned, get a second opinion from another doctor.

Had the bleeding, doctor half heartedly gave me the option of a colonoscopy. I said yes for sure, got it done. Turns out I had a polyp that would likely have turned cancerous in the future. Got it removed and will now get a check every 3 years. Early detection is the key!

Yep same, Dad called all us boys and suggested we check, I was 46, had 3-4 polyps removed and have been back for the 3yr repeat - also removing another 3+ this last year. Simple to do and can save a very early, uncomfortable end. Lost Dad between the two procedures but can still hear the urgency in his message. Take care of yourselves lads.

A bit sad that 3 ex warriors are tipped to be the next value for money signing. I would not be surprised if Katoa, Hayze and Murchie go to another level outside the warriors system. I hope this stops under Webster as I have a higher opinion of him than the last few coaches we have had.

Agree with Murch and Katoa, Katoa especially seemed a premature release - acknowledging there’s always more than meets the eye from the outside.

Hayze though, more an ex Eels player really as they couldn’t do much at all even after an additional 2-3yrs on top of our efforts.
