Welcome to the official Forum Sevens thread on nzwarriors.com. This is here for forum sevens players and spectators alike to get together, discuss matches and team selections, and to generally keep in touch with each other.

So for those of you reading this who don't know what forum sevens are, here is a basic outline from the forum sevens official website:
Forums Sevens is a game where two teams write essays and these essays are refereed by an impartial marker. Each essay is marked with a score out of 100. The scores are then added up for two team totals. The team with the highest marks overall are declared the winners and receive two competition points. In the event of the scores being equal, both teams receive one competition point each.
This will not be the main port of call for the Warriors forum sevens team. That is what the team's locker room on the official forum sevens website is for. This will, however, be another port of call.

The Warriors team is captained by our very own Robster, and has a number of players from both this and other forums. The team finished 7th out of 10 teams in their debut season, narrowly missing out on the finals.

If you enjoy writing and would like to set aside some time next year to write articles about rugby league, feel free to let us know in this thread. Also, if you have any queries regarding forum sevens, feel free to post them here, too.

Here are a couple of links regarding the forums sevens:

Just for the record, I had an absolute blast in my rookie year, and I'm looking forward to lining up for the Warriors F7s team in 2007. :)

Yeah guys, I'm also part of the Forum 7's team from this year. Had an awsome time writing for it and learnt plenty as well. I enjoyed the 2006 season and am looking forward to the 2007 season.

Along with this I'd also like to add, that even if you aren't a writer but can add contribution to help out the writers when they are pressed for time like editing, proofreading and feedback it is always appreciated.

Bring on Warriors Forum 7's 2007 :)

I am also a Warriors F7's player.

My articles blew goats to be honest, but it was still fun.

I'll be "in" but like I said toRobster it all depends on my work commitments.

me and that kid Corky from 'Life goes on' must of been the only ones playing that match ....

Yep a week to week basis, odd break for re games and things. how long the seson goes..um...can't remember! lol. Rob, Jes?

No, it's not on a weekly basis. Matches start every second Sunday and run for ten days. (Basically, you have a week and a half to write and submit your article.)

Then the next match starts the following Sunday after the Wednesday full time.

The Warriors played 9 matches this year, (the regular season). There were also three State of Origin matches, an ANZAC test, and now the top teams are into the finals series. Then there'll be the Tri-Nations later this year... :D

Here's the draw for 2006, which should give you a basic idea for next season: https://f7s.leagueunlimited.com/draw2006.asp

As for a spot, I'm sure there'll be one, but it's ultimately up to Rob, as he is the captain. But Polar Bob has stepped down due to time constraints, and there were a few players in the squad last season who never played, so I assume there are a few spots on offer...Rob?

Yep; a few players were released during the year, which left us with some minimal choices from time to time. But I reckon there'll be some spots. And yes got confused with when it runs.

Im making my own team " Xenu Xenu and the Funky Bunch"

We have a warm up match against the IHC next week. The IHC are red hot favourites at the TAB at $1.03
