Love it Fonzie Fonzie!

I like your take on CHT returning. Agree that if the club sees his as our long term 7. Then let him have it, It's his jumper to lose. Really would like Nikorima at 14. RTS 100% needs to stay at fullback. I don't think its best for the team to put Walsh at fullback replacing RTS, nor is it better for his development. If Walsh is our fullback next year, he definitely is good enough to be our 6. Hearing RTS directions from the back is still good for his development.

Well articulated Fonzie.

I agree once all the troops are back Walsh has to be managed.

The game against Manly isn't a given so hope we do have a couple more players available.

Nice turn of phrase re Walsh and the team reaching a critical mass of speed, awareness and skill.

This will seem out of left field for some, but as far as sorting the spine out long term there is a third way, an arguably easier path to improving hooker, fb and Half.

What needs to happen is that they use the same set up they did to improve Shaun Johnsons defence, bring Ruben in and work intensively with Walsh and wait for it....Sean O'Sullivan to make those two the same defensive player they built with Johnson. Add Kodi to that defensive weekly drills crew.

Fixing the defence of those three means:

Sean plays seven, we have his organizing and awareness to bring Walsh onto the ball from out the back, we lose very little in our kicking game from half, in fact we double our overall kicking threat.

O'Sullivan kept trying to bring players onto the ball, no one was in the mindset post the epoch of the Prophet Walsh, that organising would be dam handy if we use Walsh at the back, little is lost in terms of accessing Walsh's running game with a better organiser at pivot.

CHT plays six, he can run, he has some short kicks, it is easier to teach blokes to tackle than it is to try to teach CHT to orgainise a NRL team and to grow a new kicking foot.

Kodi signed an option, time for the club to fix our shortage at Hooker, if Egan goes down we are screwed.

Rather than spend a lot of money on another Hooker, buy in a young hooking prospect and run Kodi at 14.

1. Walsh

6. CHT

7. O'Sullivan

9. Egan

14. Nikorima.

Now teaching three blokes to tackle would save the Warriors having to go to the market and try to get marquee replacements who probably are not there, it would save them wasting upgrade money that they clearly are going to need for some of these new kids.

They should also use their imagination and see what Sean and CHT look like paired, I am certain it will steady CHTs running game and free him up better than Kodi has.

It is a simple solution, to develop the players you already have that you are mostly paying peanuts for and go to bank laughing. No need to buy hookers and halves.

Fixing someones tackling is a 101 skill you can teach anyone if you have the right teacher.

In defense... Kodi, Walsh and O'Sullivan are well under 6 foot. Lucky to be listed at 5 foot. Hard to make good sticking tackles when 80% of players they're tackling are well over 100kg and well over 6 foot. Don't even think wiki will fix that.

We have the backrowers to make that work with Tohu and Curran two apex defenders. Add in Aitken and Pompey and the edges tighten significantly.
Montoya is a defensive Wing. Suddenly only Ken or Fusitua need working out in this team.
Sure Wiki can improve those boys tackling. I take your point though, they will not be super defenders, ok is good enough probably, at the moment they are not ok.
