Major sponsor Puma has produced a stunning one-off Vodafone Warriors jersey for Awen Guttenbeil's testimonial match against Cronulla at Mt Smart Stadium on August 5.
Renowned moko artist Inia Taylor III from Moko Ink in Grey Lynn was enlisted to help with the design of the jersey.
The finished product was first revealed at Guttenbeil's testimonial lunch organised by Peter Leitch last Thursday.
Taylor's known for work he has done on former All Blacks Carlos Spencer and Kees Meeuws.
The design on the jersey for the Cronulla match depicts Guttenbeil's life story (he is part Maori and part Tongan).
The Vodafone Warriors will wear the limited edition jersey for the match against the Sharks only.
The jersey isn't available for the retail market.

Easily the most stylish NRL jersey of all time.

I bet they'd sell like hot cakes if they made a limited edition available to the public. The club could probably use the money after all.

Apart from the overbearing Vodafone logo, I love that jersey - absolutely terrific.

Having said that, I complained about the size of the Chrisco logo on the Kiwis jerseys last year, but I didn't care when the whistle was blown, so that'll be the same for the match against the Sharks! :p

Absoloutly i bet we'd even get bandwagon fans buying jersys just because it looks so damn good, they're CRAZY not to sell that jersy, i'd be down to the shops tommorow if they happen to change their mind.

Apart from the vodafone symbol looking more like a bullseye it is a pretty mean jersey

I think we should email wayne.

I did that last week, and I know of quite a few other fans who've done the same thing. That was before this announcement.

Basically, if they were to put these jerseys on general sale, that would be unfair on those who had to make silent bids for the thirty that have been made already, and I can understand that stance.
