General "Ericsson" Stadium?

Has anyone else heard about the possibility that Ericsson Stadium will be changing it's name, due to the fact that Ericsson (the company) no longer exists?

If it's true, it'll be interesting to see what happens. Naming rights of the stadium would probably be worth a pretty penny, but I'm not sure if the Warriors would actually see any of it ...

What name would YOU like for our hallowed home ground??

I'd say Ian has got it right.
The Warriors are only 1 sporting team that plays there.
And I'd say the council doeasn't have much imagination.

There was an article in the Herald a few weeks ago about the Warriors poor form and poor crowds not being very attractive to prospective naming rights sponsors.

Besides, too many stadiums have naming rights now.

I'd give naming rights to the highest bidder. The ARC has already said that due to poor crowds they are hurting finacially. IMO a naming rights sponsor would get value for money as the Warriors are always in the media. Even though Ericcson have given up the sponsorship, nobody refers to it as Mt Smart Stadium.
