First half was a classic...but we were in a meat grinder & we got ground up & turned to mincemeat.
David Kidwell / Paul Whatuira - absolutely outstanding....massive display.
Cayless boys / Loius Anderson / Sonny Bill / Tupou......not far of the above....huge effort from Sonny given how much he has played lately.
Very sad to see these guys on the end of a hiding after what they put in tonight.

Even though they threw 50 on us im still dam proud of the team and DAM proud to be a KIWI.

This week reminded me of Grand Final week in 02. There was massive hype surrounding this test and i was buzzing

I don't think we were going to win or deserved to win. I think the word some has to be replaced with alot and signicant calls aswell example Nathan Hindmarshs try.

There were also calls that gave Aussie more possesion which took more gas out of our tank, which enabled them to score soft trys even the biggest waterfalls start from a single drop.

I thought the Kiwis lacked leadership in the second half...they needed Wiki to calm things down...a couple of the calls went against the Kiwis..how he didnt penalise Gasnier for passing when he was clerly tackled is beyond me...that was a crucial call...

..BUT..one consolation....HUNT GOT SMASHED!!!!!!!

I will always support the Kiwis.
But even blind freddie could have predicted an aussie backlash.
We had too many unfit players in our squad, and a lack of commitment from some backs undermined things. You can't hide a non-defender who is gun-shy; you will get caught out.
We wanted to play the meat-grinder game put their whole team was bigger than us. Something had to give & we gave. It's simple & the tactics need to be looked at.

Yes, we needed someone to blast the referee or question what the hell was going on. Vagana just concentrated on the footy and didnt question any of the decisions and the referee became a home town ref giving away twice as many penalties to the home side. Do not even try to convince me that Australia were twice as illdisciplined in a physical game like that. There was as much holding and screwing up the ruck from them as us, we only played what was infront of us.

I counted about 6 knock ons or forward passes in crucial field positions that were not called. And lets not talk about that try that came from a legitimate tackle on the ground, or the forward pass that Tahu scored from later on.

I'm seriously not fussed at the result. When have we ever been ready for a one-off test?

Without Johns, Australia, like Newcastle, are a shadow of the team they can be. I don't see anything on the horizen for Australia that will put the wind up future Kiwi teams like Johns does.

Bring on the tri-series and (hopefully) a full strength Kiwi team.
