General DR HUGH HAZARD: INJURY UPDATE

MONDAY, 21ST AUGUST, 2006

Bulldogs Medical Officer Dr Hugh Hazard has made the following comments regarding players injured last weekend.

"Willie Tonga has had a medial ligament reconstruction today. He will not play again this season.

"MRI scans on the injured left knee of Roy Asotasi have revealed an incomplete tear of the medial ligament. We will brace his leg for 4 to 5 weeks. If the Bulldogs were to make the Grand Final then he may be available to play again this season.

"Nate Myles is progressing well after sustaining a knock to his leg and is a strong chance of playing this Friday.

"The latest prognosis for Dallas McIlwain after he sustained a shoulder injury last Friday is that he is a 50/50 proposition for this week against the Sea Eagles."

*sigh* i expected it. I really did. I'm really really gutted. Especially about Roy. One of the main reasons why i wanted us to make the GF in the first place was for him. Now that reason is at the top of the list!!

Shame for Tonga, after the injury-plagued season he had last year and will miss out on the playoffs this year, lucky Asotasi gets another shot this season if the Bulldogs can get that far.

I really am upset about this. I expected it. But it still upsets you. I have been so down ever since he left the field on friday night. All i have been able to think of since then is Roy. Arg obsessive i know. But i do really heart him. I wouldnt be as gutted if he wasn't leaving. But ffs he is. =(

And poor Willie T..thats like the 2nd or 3rd time he's been out this year. . And he was in such great form!!
