Should be a good competition although the time zone is really niggly. Good win against India last night in the warmup and am curious to see if the black caps can keep that sort of form up.

Always done well in world cups in England. Similar weather and pitches to what the players normally encounter at home

Despite a defeat against the Aussies in today’s warm up I still have England as favourites. Batting goes all the way to No 11

Good win for Nz mind

They are definitely the favourites and batting lineup is incredibly powerful. A lot will come down to the pitches. If they are flat England and India are big favourites. If there is a bit of movement then Australia Nz and South Africa come in to play.

So disappointing that the powers that be have left the Black Caps so short on match fitness and competition over the last few months.

Money talks, but it is so sad that we play so few high quality games compared to the bigger teams at this point in our history. Still, a bloody good season ahead mind you.

The pitches are likely to be hard and fast in the big games, but if there is enough moisture in the air then our bowlers will dominate. I'd love to see a tournament where players are tested against all the art forms of cricket rather than just playing on 'smashed em bro' wickets. Good luck getting that past the BCCI though...

So much will depend on the wickets. England, Pakistan, India and West Indies could be brutal in batter friendly conditions.

I'm picking England vs Australia final. Smith and Warner are in good form and have a point to prove. Nothing is more dangerous than competitive Aussies with a point to prove. I think this England team is too confident to choke as per usual.

South Africa will be brilliant at times, can they sustain it though? Afghanistan to cause an upset.

I'm concerned about the NZ all rounders, and Guptill and Munro against quick bowling. I'd put Latham in that category against elite bowlers, but I'm picking him to have a big tournament if he can get fit. Williamson owes us some runs this year, and I think he'll rise to the occasion. Also picking a big tournament for Santner with the ball.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again ... West Indies could be the surprise packets at this year’s WC

Very dry and no swing...just made for them...early days though those Indians can belt it as well.

If NZ are going to get into the four they could do with some early morning cool weather to bowl on and get a few early wickets against one of the favoured teams.

The game against the Windies in Manchester could be a key one.

Tight game v Bangladesh. Going to the wire with 40 needed from 55 balls in a low scoring game

They were coasting this morning when I tuned in.

Ended up being a bit too close for comfort!

Shakib Al Hasan is a brilliant All Rounder.

Just glad to get the points at this stage, it’s going to be a close tournament so I think we’ll need 6 wins at least to make the semifinals.

India on Thursday, fuck they rattled off 350 without breaking a sweat against the convicts......have a feeling our only hope is we get a green top or our bowlers could just be fodder.

I watched India against the Aussies last summer. Ok it was in different conditions to NZ but they looked the best side in the world driven by a skipper who demands the very highest standards. If we can beat them I say watch out, because this will be a very good Kiwi side who can beat anybody. A green top with the ball swinging might help a lot.

Yeah well thats the key isnt it -swing. Last night the ball wasnt moving and even Starc with those 150k yorkers of his was played with ease. I can see Teams with the powerful batting line ups like India, England, and Australia regulary knock out 350+ in those conditions. Im not as confident in us doing that unless Guptill or Munro go ballistic.
